As others have said, there is no real reason to go to a for-profit when there are so many reputable non-profits out there. If you don't like WGU or other all-online nonprofits, there are plenty of B&M schools that now have online programs that will net you a diploma with no online 'stigma'. And both options cost less than UoP, etc - why go to a pricey for-profit?

Thanks, klone, was getting ready add these. In my area, all on these lists don't advance as readily as others, like brick and mortar or their online counterparts. Or the newer onlines who are earning great reputations without leaving you broke
ETA: don't forget Med tech whose RN programs are not ACEN accredited, although they've been implying they have it or are about to be awarded it for many years

I believe Kaplan has just changed its name to Brightwood. Hope people recognize the name change!
Another one bites the dust. ITT Tech is closing all of its campuses..

Not to mention the Dept of Defense has shut University of Phoenix out of military bases around the country. No more current and former servicemen and women to prey on.
Not true (unfortunately) and it wasn't true in February when this post was originally written. They were reinstated in January of 2016 by the DOD.
