Nursing Students Online Learning

Published

Hi All,

I'm new to this site and to the field of nursing. Has anyone gone to this school and if so, what did you think?

I live in San Diego, CA, and there is an online program that this school offers. I'm 3 prerequisites away from applying to the school, with a start date of August 08. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Nicole

I emailed them earlier this week and they said they'll let me know my status by next week. I'm so nervous!

I am hoping we are getting letters today ...I cant wait anymore...I just want to know!!!!!!!!!1

I am in yeyyyyyy!!!!!!!

Congrats Laura!

Hi everyone, this is Lenore. I've been following this thread, but haven't posted yet. I applied to the program in Glendale and found out today that I was chosen as an alternate. I still have one course in progress that I will be finished with in August. I wish I knew where exactly I am on the list. Good luck to everyone!

anyone know how to private message on this?

Congrats Laura! Did you apply to San Diego or Glendale?

I applied to SD...

under our name next to register user there is an icon paper and a pen ...I think thats the one to send a PM

I think they were so hard on us this time around ....my friend is an alternate for SD and she has a great GPA....

Hi everyone,

This is my first time to ever post here :yeah: I just found out today I was accepted to the San Diego program this fall......I am curious about the CPR and immunizations. Are these required prior to starting classes next month? No one from the school has ever mentioned these to me before and I noticed a few posts about them. Will they send us information about all of this?

Thanks

Congrats to all of you who have been accepted! You will find out everything you need to know about immunizations and CPR at open house. If you want to get a head start, there are some previous posts with all of the information about them.

I would recommend checking your files for immunization records so you have an idea of where you are at. Since I was able to get records for everything from my old doctor, I only ended up having to get the two TB tests and a TD booster. Another option you will have if you can't get copies of the records and you know you have received the vaccines is a titer to show immunity. Like I said, they will give you all of that info at open house. Good luck!!

They don't send out accept/reject emails anymore; you just have to hope your paper letter isn't lost in the mail!

Laura06baby, you did the right thing to call the person with all the answers! She's very friendly and helpful, but she can be extremely difficult to get ahold of because she is so busy (especially during high traffic times like immediately after letters are sent out). Poor woman is overworked! The person in charge of applications and actually sending out the letters can answer some questions, but I've never asked the other person a question she didn't know the answer to.

Good luck everyone! Fingers crossed!

Hey Laura or anyone else, did you all have any classes in progress when you applied? If so, what courses and did you all get accepted? Laura Congrats on your acceptance. Thanks for your help. Also did anyone take an online or distance learning Microbiology course with Lab? If so, can you help me with some schools that offer that?

What are the school names?

I had lost my shot records, so I did titers for all of them. If your doctor orders the titers your insurance company probably will pay for them, as mine did. Or, you can see about getting immunizations at the health department or your current school's health clinic. Good luck for everyone starting.

I finished my prereqs prior to applying. I finished them in December and applied for the Fall 09 term. I did take Micro with Lab online with Rio Salado College in Tempe, Arizona. The total cost for that class was around 700 dollars and it started in September and ended in December. It was pretty good and of course a little demanding :) Hope that helps
