University of Oklahoma-Accelerated BSN Program

Published

Hi All,

I'm new to this site and to the field of nursing. Has anyone gone to this school and if so, what did you think?

I live in San Diego, CA, and there is an online program that this school offers. I'm 3 prerequisites away from applying to the school, with a start date of August 08. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Nicole

Unfortunately I still have 2 classes in progress, but they are labs of chemistry and micro. =( Yes, hopefully we still have a chance. I'll do my research soon of other schools. Gotta finish these labs first! lol

once you done with those, you can also put your name on Grossmont college nursing program waiting list as a back up plan. I mean, a BS is always better but just in case. just a suggestion. Where do you take your chem lab and micro?

to bseesahm:

if you live around the wichita falls, texas area, try midwestern state university. it's a 2 and a half year program but they seem alot fairer far as the requirements to get in. i had applied for ou last year in fall and didn't try to get into any other programs, and i got denied into ou..i did apply for both ou and midwestern this time...and i got into midwestern, still no word on whether i made it into ou

Hey Everyone,

Just checked my application status online, and there is a change, its asking for my final transcript once I finish Chemistry, don't want to get my hopes up, but does anyone know if they would require that if I was on the denial list?

And has anyone who lives in Oklahoma received a Acceptance/Alternate/or Denial Letter?

Yes thats true, I heard Grossmont has a pretty good nursing program. I take my labs online from Miramar college and TUI.

I am not sure if this help in a good or bad way but I was told that your status always will say final transcript needed until all grades are in. So if you have a class in progress it will always says final transcript needed. Hope that help. Good luck.

I replied to the email sent by the 'senior admissions officer' about the deposit, asking if she knew when orientation would be. This was her reply:

I am sorry, but I do not know the dates and I'm not certain if they've been narrowed down as of yet. This particular information will be forthcoming from the college in the coming weeks.

Anyone else have any luck finding out any info?

Hello Everyone,

I'm new to this site. Thank you all for all the information that you have posted. I received my acceptance letter this past Saturday and I can't wait for the program to start! Looking forward to meet all of you at orientation..Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!!

I know that some people are looking to alternatives for University of Oklahoma. There another program that I had been considering. It was Concordia University in Irvine. They also have an Accelerated BSN program and it is only 12 months. The application deadline is in January or Febuary for Fall 2010. I attended an informational seminar and it seems like a pretty solid program...just a thought.

Hey everyone, I emailed the program coordinator @ OU the other day & she responded today!!

"Open House is scheduled for December 15 in San Diego, all those admitted will be receiving an invitation within the next few days. Orientation is scheduled for 6-7, you should plan to be there all day both days."
