University of Oklahoma-Accelerated BSN Program

Hi All,

I'm new to this site and to the field of nursing. Has anyone gone to this school and if so, what did you think?

I live in San Diego, CA, and there is an online program that this school offers. I'm 3 prerequisites away from applying to the school, with a start date of August 08. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The deadline for acceptance is two weeks from the date of the letter (dated on November 18th) so that means December 2nd.

Hi I've lurked on this thread for many months, but never posted before. I have one more prereq to complete in the spring (physio) and was planning on applying for Fall 2010. I was so disappointed when I found out OU is pulling out of CA after Spring 2010 :cry:. Have any of you heard anything more about SDSU taking over the program? Was there anything mentioned in the alternate letters?

I really, really like the format/reputation of this program. I'm scramblng and looking at other ABSN programs, but nothing is really quite as good. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that SDSU or someone will pick up the program "as is" with no breaks, but in the meantime, I'm having to come up with a "Plan B":crying2:. I so want to get started!

I got an email about Marian university in Indianna. You should look into that. I know San Marcos also have a ABSN program. hope that help. And don't worry, you're not the only one. it'll all work out somehow.

Thanks. I have a family so moving to Indiana is not an option. I had previously dismissed San Marcos' program due to its length (24-27 months, only spring cohorts - that's not accelerated!), but now I'm looking at it again. I'm also looking at programs in LA area. Sigh - I had such a perfect plan laid out with OU. I'm kicking myself for not doubling up and taking both Anatomy and Physio this past fall, but from a timing standpoint family wise, it made more sense for me to take it easy this year and start an intensive program Summer/Fall 2010. Hindsight is 20/20~

No. But i'm researching some more school right now to submit my application. Do you have any class in progress? I wonder if they will send the alternate any email. How about you?
