University of Miami accelerated BSN 2012

Anyone applying to the University of Miami ABSN program for next summer 2012?

Hello!

I was accepted to the ABSN for the spring term, but I asked them to defer my application for the Summer so I will be starting in May as well! I am very excited and scared at the same time. I will be traveling from Broward (Coconut Creek) with another one of my friends that is also starting in May. We were thinking of taking the Tri-rail and Metro Rail. Does any one else have a commute? Also, anyone applying to scholarships. I have been looking, but don't feel that I qualify for many since this is a 2nd degree. Can't wait to meet everyone!

Can anyone point me in the right direction for filling out the application? I feel like the whole application is high school based and I have a Bachelors and a Masters....am I missing something lol

No, the application for UM is really easy! Just the common app and your transcripts. The common app requires a short transfer essay, a reference form and a school official's report. The official's report may be tricky if you've been out of school for awhile...I was able to contact one of the deans at my undergraduate school to complete it.

but do I have to fill out all the information on high school? that was 7 years ago....I don't remember lol

I read your post and smiled because I was accepted for the Spring '12 but had it defered to May '12. I will also be commuting from Coconut Creek. :)

HiI read your post and smiled because I was accepted for the Spring '12 but had it defered to May '12. I will also commute from Coconut Creek. I applied for the scholarship and got the email. Praying I'm selected to be interviewed.

Hi! Congrats! I live about an hour north from Miami. I would join the group on Facebook "UM Accelerated BSN Summer 2012". I have been checking out places but have not driven down to see them personally. -chesca

Thanks Chesca. Are you planning on living closer to campus? Would love to have a roommate/s. Won't probably have a chance to view apartment physically before getting to Miami but any one in need of roommate, I would like to talk to you. MB
