Anyone applying to the University of Miami ABSN program for next summer 2012?
Hello everyone I just received my letter of accepatance for UM summer 2012 accelarated program on march 23 Im really excited! I see in the letter that you have to make some deposits to secure your place. In the letter says that you have to submit the deposists 2 weeks from the date of the letter. I just want to know how long did you guys waited to submit the deposit did you counted two weeks from the day you received or from the date that the letter was printed. I wil take me a few days to gather the money for the deposists and I dont want to risk loosing my spot. Also, do you know if any of the deposists are refundable just in case I decide not to attend the program later before the program starts. Thanks :)
Wow you received your letter late. Once you submit the $500.00 ( which ISN'T refundable) you will need to complete the background check, drug screening, and fbi check to America Data Bank ( Its $165.00) after that, you will need to pay $300.00 to admissions since you will be a new UM student. After paying the $500 and $165 you will receive an e-mail, letting you know where you can purchase scrubs, shoes, & penlights. Also you will need to keep all your immunizations up to date. There is a facebook page you can log into right now for more information. I believe it's called UM Accelerated BSN Nursing Summer 2012. Best of luck! :)
whatsup everyone my name is Vivek and I will be starting in May as well at UM. I am a male from Tampa, FL and I plan on driving down to Coral Gables sometime in Mid-April to look at some places for housing. If anyone is intrested in sharing housing I would be most defintley intrested. It doesn't bother me about male/female I'm just looking for a place close to campus and clinicals that I can call home for the next 12 months. I'm really relaxed and nothing really ever gets to me so I dont mind rooming with anybody. Also, i dont care if its 2-3-or 4 of us staying together in a apt/condo/house. My email is [email protected], and I guess if possible we can meet up sometime in April and take a look around at some places. Or if any of you already had a place in mind and are looking to add another room mate I'd be glad to join. Take care everyone..

Hi Grace,
University of Miami is my first choice for an ASBN program. I am nervous about getting accepted, as well as all of the logistics that will need to be worked out if I am accepted. Thank you for all of your helpful information this site. I hope you don't mind if I reach out to you for advice in the future! From the date of your posts, I am guessing you are a nurse by now! I look forward to hearing about your career.
Thank you,
Erika

Hi,
I was just accepted to the program for the May start 2012! I'm coming Massachusetts but am originally from Canada, so this is brand new territory for me. I've been looking at housing and am wondering if people have suggestions as to where to look, good neighborhoods, finding roommates, is anyone looking for a roommate, etc. I'm excited for May!
