University of Miami ABSN Summer 2018

Hello Everyone,

Is anyone else applying for the Accelerated BSN program at the University of Miami to start in May 2018? I am just finishing up my application now and hoping to submit it in a week or two. I'd like to connect to some others also applying!

For all those who were admitted, did everybodies Canelink day ‘complete' for some time before that?

I was accepted yesterday! That took forever, probably because there was a mix up with one of my documents. Anyone who's done this program have any insight on its quality/what it's like?? I wish it weren't so expensive.

@hopefulRN94 Mine said complete for about 3 weeks before I saw the new message on CaneLink. Don't lose hope! Rooting for you!!

Mine was showing complete for over a month before I got admitted. Also my CaneLink did not change to admitted until a week after I received admission email from UM. So if you do not check your actual email I would suggest to do so.

While classes start May 21st, they also said that there's a mandatory Orientation on May 17th.

Should I be worried that i have not heard anything from UM? I had submitted my application January 8th and my transcripts were verified around the first week of February. In my portal it still says incomplete... I'm going crazy waiting for a response! Congrats to everyone that has been accepted :)

no you shouldn't be worried because it takes a long time. I spoke with someone in admissions and they told me that even those who submitted by the deadline (Feb 1) will have a decision by the end of March. It seems like they are doing acceptances in 2 week waves. It makes sense because once accepted, you have 2 weeks to accept or decline

@cat9 I applied in December and I have not heard a thing either. Canelink Incomplete as well. I was told last week by a very kind woman "that was a good thing" and they are accepting 100 student this cohort instead of the usual 70-80.

I hope you find peace in my insanity! I am totally with you; so anxious and excited and hopeful yet giving up and alllll the other possible emotions, LOL!
