  1. ok thank you! i was under the impression it took a few weeks. makes me feel a lot better
  2. Thank you SO much! I was under the impression it was a legit course that took weeks to complete lol makes me feel so much better now omg
  3. Has anyone started the Pre-immersion course yet? I just got accepted 2 weeks ago so I haven't received any information yet but they said I would be sent info soon. How long does this course take to complete? I'm nervous I won't have enough time before classes start...
  4. I think you should definitely apply! Hey, it can't hurt - the worst they can say is no... I didn't think I would get in because my GPA isn't great either and I have very little healthcare experience but I got in so I say it's worth a shot :) Good luck!
  5. I had a 3.2 undergrad GPA but I went to a very competitive school in the northeast, so I believe they may have taken this into consideration. I focused a lot on my prerequisites this past year and got a 3.9 pre-req GPA (2 more currently pending by the time I applied to UM). I have been working as a home health aide for a senior woman the past year. Other than that, my background is probably not your typical ABSN student-- I used to work in financial services before I became and aide! But, I have volunteered in hospitals since high school and I've always had a passion for working in the medical field so I talked about that in my essay. Hope that helps:) Good luck!
  6. i was accepted 2 weeks ago and my status still said incomplete lol. THey will send you an email based on your decision and then it will upload in canelink. Also FYI, they send out decisions in 2 week waves ive heard. I got my acceptance april 6, so you could be getting your decision soon!
  7. Does anyone know how many days we have to physically be on campus the first semester? Trying to figure out if I need to move or not bc I live about an hour away
  8. Just got my acceptance today! woohoo! but funny thing is my status still says incomplete lol but my admissions letter is up in canelink and I also got an email just now. I applied pretty much at the deadline, so it makes sense why my decision letter took so long lol
  9. Thank you for the info. Did you get the MMRV vaccines when you were younger? I got MMR (Varicella wasn't out yet, but I did have chicken pox). But I got positive antibody titers for Varicella, so I believe as long as you produce positive antibody titers you won't have to get boosters. Not sure if that was the case for you?
  10. Thanks for the info. Yeah I've done some more reserach regarding this the past few days and it seems that it is not only safe but necessary. Also talked to a few moms about it
  11. no need for the attitude..."a little googling goes a long way." I'm not stupid. Obviously those are the websites that come up...standard government-run organization websites just for informational purposes. Any person with a pulse who has a computer can find that information within 5 seconds... Anyways, that wasn't the question I asked. I asked about temporary exemptions during school. Please learn how to read before replying to a comment.
  12. This was what I was wondering about pregnancy. I have all my vaccines except flu vaccine and I need a Tdap booster (had one over 10 years ago). Do you know anything about being temporarily exempt from those vaccines until after baby is born?
  13. What about exemptions for certain vaccines for someone who is newly pregnant? Have all vaccines and immunizations that school requires, but only need Tdap booster and flu vaccine. Could pregnancy be a legit exemption in this case? Obviously have no problem with vaccines once baby is born (will be about halfway through semester, but clinicals will have already started).
  14. no you shouldn't be worried because it takes a long time. I spoke with someone in admissions and they told me that even those who submitted by the deadline (Feb 1) will have a decision by the end of March. It seems like they are doing acceptances in 2 week waves. It makes sense because once accepted, you have 2 weeks to accept or decline
  15. I just spoke to someone in admissions. And what people on here are saying is correct - they send out decisions in waves. They just sent out a round of decisions, so it will be 2 weeks until the next one (they send them out that way, because accepted students get 2 weeks to accept or decline offer). She said that ultimately, all decisions will be made by the end of march. I know that sounds frustrating because it's a month from now lol, but at least that confirms that even if you applied late, the latest you'll hear is a month from now.
