Hi all soon to be fellow classmates! I just wanted to start this thread up so we didn't have to go weaving through all of the older stuff on the old threads.
I am really excited about starting school come January, really nervous though too. I have a lot to get done between now and then and sometimes I just don't think there is enough time in the day. Oh well, I plan on enjoying the holidays and working my buns off to save some money so that isn't an additional stressor during the first semester.
So lets post our questions, our thoughts and hopefully just get to know one another! And again....CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
I am pretty sure they are saving spots in the classes for everyone and will register you either in person or by way of some default mechanism. They sent me something the other day saying they would track us down to find out why we had not registered yet if that was the case.
It took me 3 tries to mail them my info and to register for classes. Two forms were lost in the mail but the third made it. You need to figure out the classes you need, figure out that one was actually not one we were supposed to take, write it all down on a form longhand, mail that form in, wait for them to get back to us to tell us we could then re register online ( they never got back to me) , and when the system wouldn't let me register get bounced around from department to department with one line trouble shooting responses. Then they tell us we will be registered automatically.
I feel a little better so many people are having the same problems.
The good news is if you are in you are in. Just get your shots, Cpr certification and get ready for orientation. I am looking forward to having my fate back in my hands.
I found my pathopharm book to be useful especially Lehne. I'm not the type of learner that can just memorize bits of info. I need to know why such and such drug works the way it does or how the endocrine cycle works, in more than just the power point talking points.
I also got an A in the class. But I also know people who got an A w/out the book. To each his/her own.
What are people planning to wear to orientation tomorrow? Should we dress professionally or can we get away with jeans?
I would dress nice on top (for the student ID) and jeans w/ no tears. We'll have plenty of chances to dress professionally for lab and scrubs for clinical. It's just an orientation, we've already made it in :)
I got an email about it. But all you really have to do is go to UMB SON page, click on current student, then click on student logins, then click on blackboard.
