Hi all soon to be fellow classmates! I just wanted to start this thread up so we didn't have to go weaving through all of the older stuff on the old threads.
I am really excited about starting school come January, really nervous though too. I have a lot to get done between now and then and sometimes I just don't think there is enough time in the day. Oh well, I plan on enjoying the holidays and working my buns off to save some money so that isn't an additional stressor during the first semester.
So lets post our questions, our thoughts and hopefully just get to know one another! And again....CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
i got most of my equipments yesterday.. but the stethoscope was $84... does anybody know where i cld get a cheaper one? where can i go for my cpr certification?
As posted previously, they sell for $70 (not including shipping, probably ~$14) http://www.allheart.com/2200-16.html
I'm going to wait till orientation to buy the stethoscope pack (as I previously posted).
You can get your CPR certification done at any certified organization such as, classes through RedCross or Community College near you.
Below's link is from REDCROSS website and put in your zip code to get the local number to ask about their CPR programs.
a friend is looking for a roommate. it is about 5 minutes from UMSON campus in Baltimore. 550$ I think.
umbismylife: I can't imagine trying to find housing for school... when the school doesn't really supply any. I'll be going to SG but I live at home so that's one less thing to look into. i forgot if you're in the area or out of state...
I still need books, PPD shot, and equipments! I just got a shipment of scrubs on ALLHEARTS (alot of their stuff are either sold out or back-ordered). It's frustrating but I hope other people had better luck w/ finding scrubs!
bluelilmunkie/PPD: I saw on an earlier post (way early, like page 5) that mentioned a place in gaithersburg that offered walk in vaccinations at reasonable cost. I found one closer in hyattsville - much closer to me. try googling: american vaccination centers - i am sure there is a walk in clinic near you even if this organization isn't close. the office i went it was actually a pediatrician's office - i might have been lucky on the day i went, but i was in and out in a few minutes

As long as they are leather and imperable to fluids.......... They aren't really worried about them being white, but they are strict about whether they protect you from bodily fluids
