University of Houston 2nd Degree BSN Spring 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi, everyone! I wanted to start a thread for the Spring 2018 application cycle since I didn't see one that was created yet. For those wondering, the deadline is August 15, 2017. Based on last admit's (Spring 2017) thread, applicants started hearing back with denials and acceptances around the second week of September. I look forward to sharing our experiences through this application process!

Does anyone have any insight on the program from any current or previous students? I know it's quite rigorous since it is condensed into 1 year (vs. 15 months at other accelerated second-degree BSN programs).

I have a B.S. in Psychology from UH Main. I'm currently taking my last class for the application (A&P 2 Lab), and I'm planning to take the TEAS in July. Good luck to all!! ;)

Hello

I found that same link earlier, that Spring18RN posted, but an email was sent at about 5pm to the applicants with a completely different process and no code was required. Has anyone received that email?

Yes I got the same email and followed he same instructions and got the exact result as you - just one location and no code. I'm going to call/e-mail them tomorrow to clarify

I'm so excited that I got my email with invitation too!! Anyone interested in starting a FB group for our cohort? would be easier than here.

i got the invitation also.. but does that mean we're in? we still have to do well in the interview right?

I got the invite for Interview Day too! I am beyond excited to have made it this far. I did receive an email this morning from UH saying to wait on completing Step 2 until they send another email. They are waiting for the BON to get back with them. Looking forward to seeing what's to come!

Is anyone having trouble submitting payment for the drug screening? Every time I fill out the payment form it won't let me submit it. It says to enter the correct details, which I have, but it won't accept it.

I received my blue card yesterday. I applied to more than one nursing schools so UTA reached out first and i did my finger printing last week. I heard the finger printing is good for all nursing schools.

i did my payment the same day i received the invitation. try again a little later. maybe the site is down

I received an email today saying to hold off the finger printing for now. I also received the mail about selecting the fbi finger printing at 5pm yesterday. I followed the instruction, made an appointment and paid the fee of $50. With the second email asking us to wait I guess I will have to cancel my appointment and request a refund.

Hi guys :) congrats on all your invitations to interview day. I was also invited, but I'm having trouble registering for fingerprinting etc. I also never got the second email about holding off on the fingerprint. Can someone tell me what it said? Also can someone explain to me what the fast pass and declaratory order are? I feel like the directions in the email were a little vague and I can't seem to figure it out :(

"Good Morning All,

I received a response from the Texas Board of Nursing. As I mentioned in earlier e-mails Hurricane Harvey has delayed some processes. The fingerprint process is one that has been affected.

You will not be able to register for the fingerprint until the Board of Nursing has confirmed your social security numbers. When this confirmation is completed, the Board of Nursing will contact me. This process can take up to 10 days. Therefore, for now, please do not move forward with Step 2 as indicated in your invitation for Interview Day.

Once I receive the confirmation from the Board of Nursing, I will send an e-mail out with further instruction.

However, for those individuals who have contacted me in regards to already having their Blue Card, please forward those to me.

Thank you all so much for your patience. "

Thank you :) do we all need to mail a declaratory order?

Thank you :) do we all need to mail a declaratory order?

I could be wrong but I believe a declaratory order should only be necessary for those who might have something "questionable" on their criminal background check.
