University of Houston 2nd Degree BSN Spring 2019
Hey everyone, I am graduating in Dec 2018 from this year's cohort. I wanted to try to sell my books to the next class and perhaps answer any questions you guys have (and I know there must a LOT!). I actually started last year's allnurses thread, and it was definitely helpful getting feedback from everyone. Obviously, we're still super busy with capstone clinicals and NCLEX prep, so I will try to address questions in a timely manner. Also, I prefer private messages. If you can't send them through allnurses, try Facebook. I requested to join your Facebook group. Thanks, congratulations, and GOOD LUCK!!

UT Health Pacesetter BSN Spring 2018
Is there anyone else on here who has been accepted to UH's Second Degree BSN? The deadline to purchase uniforms/ scrubs is this Wednesday, and since it looks like we won't be hearing back from UTH anytime soon, a decision will have to be made soon. Just wondering if there's anyone else in the same boat!

Spring 2018: UT Health Science Center Houston
Hey guys, it looks like you would be able to check your account/ app status via this link: https://apply.uth.tmc.edu/psp/applyuth/APPLYUTH/CS_20/h/?tab=UT_CS_NVT_APPLY_SIGNON For those of you who attended the most recent webinar, do you recall the date they mentioned for us to expect to hear back? For some reason, Oct 15 keeps lingering in my mind, but I doubt that's the correct date since the website says Nov 15. I tried calling in today, but it went to voicemail.

I believe you are. Mine says the same, also. https://apply.uth.tmc.edu/psp/applyuth/APPLYUTH/CS_20/h/?tab=UT_CS_NVT_APPLY_SIGNON I also posted this on the other UTH forum: For those of you who attended the most recent webinar, do you recall the date they mentioned for us to expect to hear back? For some reason, Oct 15 keeps lingering in my mind, but I doubt that's the correct date since the website says Nov 15. I tried calling in today, but it went to voicemail.

TWU Spring 2018
TWU is 24, and UT is 15. I'm not sure about how true this is, but I may have read somewhere that you can't shorten that 24 month duration at TWU (by taking more classes, etc.), even if you wanted to.

TWU Spring 2018
I got accepted to the Houston campus!! :) Huge congrats to everyone who got accepted, and even those who didn't - as previously mentioned, applying is no easy feat, so best wishes to you guys next time around! I'm also one who's still waiting to hear back from UTHealth, and even though UTHealth was my first choice due to the shorter program, I'm definitely reconsidering due to all the insight given so far.

Hope you're doing well post-hurricane, also. My family and I are thankful to be safe. This is from an email I received from UH on 8/30: "The College of Nursing Dean and Faculty will meet on September 5 to make determinations on many issues. It will take some time to get all the details in place. So again, please be patient….but also confident that we will get through this and will move forward with the selection process for the Spring 2018 cohort of the UH College of Nursing Second Degree BSN program." So, yeah, it looks like there may be a delay, and we will probably be hearing from them soon since they had a meeting yesterday.

UT Health Pacesetter BSN Spring 2018
Hi, all. Hope everyone is safe and well. Just received this email a few minutes ago from UTHealth. This might be good news for those concerned about the reporting of HESI scores. Due to the effects of Hurricane Harvey, the Spring 2018 Pacesetter BSN application deadline has been extended to September 15. In order to have an application considered complete, the required applications materials must be received by this new deadline. This includes official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended and official HESI A2 scores. The School of Nursing has an established relationship with Elsevier (the company that administers the HESI exam) and thus all exams taken between September 1 and September 15 will be reported to the School on September 18 and considered complete for the Spring 2018 review cycle. If you have questions about the UTHealth admissions process, please contact the Student Affairs Office at 713.500.2100.

TWU Spring 2018
@trg8689 No worries! I totally understand, I was more concerned with class than the hurricane until I started seeing cars getting submerged down the street! Hope you get added soon! @pappa22v Thanks for the update! It's definitely reassuring that TWU is definitely prioritizing our safety above all.

TWU Spring 2018
Hey @trg8689. So glad you're safe! Hope everything gets better here on out. Online classes are either on Blackboard or Canvas, and our class is on Blackboard (My Courses - - Texas Woman's University). The login is the same as Pioneer Portal. Once you're enrolled, you'll receive an email with instructions. We just received an email 15 min ago saying that Dr. Grigsby doesn't have internet access right now due to the storm, but she will open up the class for us as soon as she does. Until then, we need to frequently check the website for updates.

I live close to Pearland area, and we're doing fine for the most part... can't say the same for the rest of the city, though. Thanks for checking in! Most major roads seem to be closed. How's it going in Southwest area, @ldickerson? Everyone stay home and stay safe! I heard muggings and burglaries are on on the rise, so stay indoors!
