Hello there! I just wanted to start this thread to see if there were any people applying to the University of Florida for next fall for their nurse practitioner program? I am applying to the BSN to DNP specialty in Pediatric Acute Care. Anyone know how the current pandemic might affect the application process? Any current students that might want to share their experiences with application process, and the current state of the program? Thank you all in advanced, looking forward to hearing from you all and starting this journey.

I'm number 4 there, so patiently waiting. Another school said decisions will be released April 16th. I'm assuming UF will be right around there as well. Goodluck everybody! I have almost 3 years experience in surgical PCU. Applied to their AGACNP track!
OMG last august?! Do you mind sharing what program that was? Good luck to everyone too!!

I believe the app opened in August and they filled up on a rolling basis of approval if that makes sense. I'm assuming after other schools release decisions, more spots will open up at this school. It's UNF. I applied and am approved to start the FNP program there, given a spot opens up before this August. We shall see what happens. I tried to spread my eggs into multiple baskets LOL

Wow same here. I applied the first week of December. I was never told where I was on the waiting list. Just that I will be notified of a spot becomes available. I’m not bumped due to UF’s AG-ACNP program being my #1 choice

Oh OK makes sense!! Yeah UF was the only program in the state that has pediatric acute track so I only applied to this one ? !
Has anyone updated their application after submission to add more achievements or experience. I just got accepted into my organizations Team Member Advisory Council and I wanted to add it. I remember it saying you can add stuff later, but cannot edit or delete things you already submitted

Thank you!
Ugh. I just went through my wapplication and realized I put all my hospital experience choosing the option “employment” instead of “Patient/Healthcare Experience”. I hope they don’t ding me for that
I'm so bummed. NursingCAS still hasn't submitted my application. I know the hard deadline is April 1st, but I'm just feeling doubtful due to all the priority March 1 applications that must've been submitted. I'm okay with the outcome, but its all the work that was put into it that makes its so disappointing. One of my colleges I went to is small and doesn't participate in any electronic transcript service, so the snail mail took forever to get to NursingCAS. Ugh

Believe someone said maybe in April. To cover yourself maybe you should just accept and just back out once you hear from UF.

I agree to just accept and back out when UF says yes. I just did the same for another school to make sure I don’t put all my eggs in one basket
