University of Florida DNP Fall 2021

Nursing Students NP Students

Published

Hello there! I just wanted to start this thread to see if there were any people applying to the University of Florida for next fall for their nurse practitioner program? I am applying to the BSN to DNP specialty in Pediatric Acute Care. Anyone know how the current pandemic might affect the application process? Any current students that might want to share their experiences with application process, and the current state of the program? Thank you all in advanced, looking forward to hearing from you all and starting this journey.

Damn it’s probably too late to apply to FSU, right? Did they too waive the GRE??

FSU waived the GRE, and USF doesn't require the GRE but they said that it makes you competitive.  Those two schools sent out admission letters in March. I think UCF was the only school that didn't waive the GRE.

I think that I am leaning that way. They do not find preceptors for you , but its doctorates and I rather be done with school.

Hello! I wanted to know if the full time BSN-DNP program is doable while keeping a full time bedside nursing job? Is anyone here doing that or know people that have or if they typically go part time? I’m looking into doing the full time psych BSN-DNP program. Thank you

Hi guys! I’m applying this year to the BSN-DNP FNP Part tome track at UF. I graduated from UF with my BSN & a 3.4 GPA.

For those who got accepted, what was your GPA?

When I applied my GPA from UNF was 3.8 with 13 years nursing experience (ED, leadership, med surg, with various honors & awards over the years) and was denied by UF. I’m so glad I decided to go with FSU! I have a 4.0 GPA after a little over a year in the FNP part time program. Had 2 peers who also were not accepted at UF with similar backgrounds and GPA. My suggestion is to apply to other schools as well. Also- UF decisions were extremely late(not until June)! Accept any spots at other institutions don’t wait on UF!

Thank you so much for letting me know! FSU’s deadline was July so I missed that one but I am applying to Nova and to a local university near me PBA.
Thank you so much!
