Hi! Just thought I would create a new topic for all of us applying to UCLA's MECN program this year ?

Thank you so much! For those who got in, could you confirm how many days you have to accept your admission offer?

Need to give them an indication of whether we plan on attending or not by March 8th!

I just got my acceptance. Best of luck to everyone :)

Ah I got a waitlist letter at 11:00am. I'm number 34.

Does anyone know how many people they let in from the waitlist in previous years?

I think previous chains said if you were #1-#15 on the waitlist you had a pretty strong chance of getting in. I'm already thinking of how to rewrite my personal statement for next cycle LOL.

To all of you who may land on the alternate list, please don't be discouraged! I was #36 on the waitlist, fell to maybe #11 on the alternate list for 2022, and just got accepted for Fall 2023. It ain't over til it's over. Best of luck to you all.

Hi everyone I just got back and saw I was admitted T^T. I got my admission email around 9:42AM like everyone else. Congrats to everyone else who also got in! I can't wait to meet our little nursing family ❤️ and for those on the waitlist and/ or rejected, I am manifesting good news for you all!!

Hi y'all! I got my acceptance letter at 9:30AM!  I am torn between UCLA and APU. One is a straight entry program to NP and the other isn't. However I feel like UCLA offers more financial assistance. Is anyone else between schools?

I am trying to decide between Johns Hopkins and UCLA. JHU offered me a full tuition scholarship, but I live in LA, so I am struggling to decide.

Guys I am devastated. What are everyone's stats? Pretty disappointed to get on the waitlist with such low ranking.. What is even the point for waitlist if there's no chance of getting in?? At this point all my efforts have gone into waste. I had a 3.93 undergrad GPA with 4.00 prerequisite GPA. Had 3+ years of clinical volunteering with another year of paid clinical experience on top of that. In addition, I also had quite a few research experiences. Thought I had some stellar LoRs and statements but apparently something went horribly wrong and there is no way of knowing that. Literally did everything I could do and tried to make everything as perfect as possible. I was so confident of getting in and I was already looking up furnitures for dorm. I saw some UC Berkeley applicant went through the exact same thing in previous year's forum and never thought that this would happen to me. Now I don't think I can go to any nursing school. I will just assume this is pure bad luck, or maybe I am simply not good enough. I don't want to wait for another year. Life is too short for me to wait. Don't even know what to do with my life anymore.

I know how hard it feels to be put on a waitlist, I too am on it. You'll probably hear this a lot because I heard it all day yesterday, but try to see the bright side of it. At least we made it onto the list. Out of the hundreds of applications UCLA gets, we are still appealing to them. The PA who wrote one of my LoR said it is still an accomplishment to have been recognized by a school like UCLA. I know its hard not to dwell on stats, but remember GPA isn't everything. They review applications holistically, so its based off of who you are and what you can offer to the school. I know its tough to not put a timeline on things, because I felt the same way. I didn't want to have to wait another year and end up graduating in my late 20's. But think of it this way, if we do not get in this round, we have extra time to strengthen our applications for next round! Sending lots of love your way ❤️

 Congratulations to everyone! -Julie

Hello,

I hope everyone has been having a great day so far. I created an FB group for anyone who wants to join and get connected with fellow MECN applicants as we prepare to begin nursing school in the Fall ?
