Hey everyone! I am planning to apply to the degree holder route for nursing at the University of Calgary for January 2021. I found this site by reading through the University of Calgary, January 2020 forum and thought it would be good to start one for this next years in take.

I am currently finishing my English prerequisite and my anatomy and physiology course at Athabasca. Last year it looked like the GPA cut off was a 3.6 and that most people over a 3.7 got accepted.

I need to upload/send my grades for prerequisites but I am not given that option on my portal. I was only given the option to upload my undergraduate transcript. I took my prereqs at different universities and they can only send documents virtually right now. I was told to call admissions but it kept going to voicemail. Very frustrating.

as well I called admissions last week and someone picked up right away.

Thanks so much for letting me know. My GPA is definitely going to take a hit after I finish this A&P course though LOL

Do you guys think the CGPA will be higher this year because of online classes?

Hi all,

I all of sudden got curious about Transcript and GPA for admission. So once I submit my transcripts of post secondary & 5 pre requisite courses, will admission take the grade (A,B,C...) as determinant of GPA or they will look at the percentage of how much I achieved then convert into UofC’s own GPA scale range? Each school has slightly different score conversion..

other question is if applicants graduated from two post secondary schools (my case, it’s degree first then got another diploma), they advised me admission will only look at the latest education GPA which is my diploma. Am I still supposed to submit both institution’s transcripts? Or the only they will look into?

any advice?

I was reading the post for last year and they had waitlisted people with 3.7 or below...crazy!! But they admitted up to 3.5 I think. I hope it has lowered this year but not too sure about how online courses would affect this. hopefully the cutoff is not too high this year.

Hi everyone,

Just a quick check before I move forward, does anyone have taken PSYC 289 from Athabasca university to fulfill one of pre-requisite courses (Arts)? Or anyone knows it's acceptable? I notice people take PSYC 228 but I thought I would prefer to take 289.. Any feedback would be a great help!!

I havent taken that course but have you tried emailing ucalgary and sending them the syllabus to see if its acceptable?

I guess since September 15 is the deadline maybe they are waiting until then? Also no clue for athabasca, I'm also waiting for them to send my transcript.
