University of Calgary, January 2021

Hey everyone! I am planning to apply to the degree holder route for nursing at the University of Calgary for January 2021. I found this site by reading through the University of Calgary, January 2020 forum and thought it would be good to start one for this next years in take.

I am currently finishing my English prerequisite and my anatomy and physiology course at Athabasca. Last year it looked like the GPA cut off was a 3.6 and that most people over a 3.7 got accepted.

Hi! I applied as well and was waitlisted last year too. It took them way longer to waitlist me last year and I was surprised at how early they placed me on it this year. What is your GPA?

I got waitlisted last year too around October. I am surprised too how early I got on the waitlist. I have 3.6.

Yeah they screwed up on my GPA calculation last year and I had a 3.7 but they counted it as a 3.6 and by the time they corrected it they said I’d still have to stay on the waitlist since they already filled the program… This year I have a 3.73 so I was surprised that I was already waitlisted since 3.6 seemed to be the cutoff last year.

Oh thats crazy. But don't worry I am positive you are getting in this year. 3.7 is great and cutoff last year was about 3.6 so yay?

I am hoping  and praying that being added early on the waitlist will mean something ?

hey are you talking about for the jan 2022? I'm a student from the US, I have a 3.9 GPA and I've still heard nothing!

Hi Melissa 

Yes I mean for Jan 2022. I'm not sure where they are at with the admissions but ii submitted my application on July 2 and was put on the waitlist mid July.
