For all of us applying to UBC's BSN 2016 program, let's communicate, share and give encouragement to one another throughout the process.
I just submitted my general UBC application to get the ball rolling early, and it already gave me access to get started on my supplemental application. This is my second time applying, so I hope to do a better job on my app this year and at least get an interview. But I have also accepted that this may not be my fate and I have other options.
Incidentally, to others who also applied previously: I phoned to make sure all my transcripts were still on file, and they are not! UBC admissions discards everything from last year. So I have six transcripts to send in again (including high school). Expensive and time consuming, and also seems a little crazy in the age of computers that they didn't keep electronic copies. But, we do what we have to do... Good luck everyone!
Has anybody had issues with Doodle? It's very slow or freezes/doesn't load properly. Luckily last week it worked for a little bit but it's very inconsistent for me....
From what I understand, they have not changed it and the final acceptance is entirely based on your interview and references. Regardless of the difference in length of interview this year. Hope that helps!

Just curious - where did you find that information?
Regardless of whether or not the interview solely determines our acceptance, I think it would be wise to put our absolute best foot forward...even if it turns out that the interview counts for less this year...why not blow them away with preparedness anyhow? Part of me wishes the interview was just a formality, or a general means to filter out people with racial, social, ethical biases not conducive to nursing, but Ive talked with enough current and graduated UBC nursing students to know to be prepared for some interesting questions...I do think its a shame we will most likely only have two questions to answer...be sure to treat yourselves well the day and night before the interview...interview day cannot be an off day...wishing everyone the best.
This is what I gathered from people currently in the program, the UBC calendar, and other resources. That's why I said from my understanding, as nowhere does it specifically state "the final admission will be entirely based on the interview". However, it does seem to imply it.
Unfortunately, the "new format" is throwing all of us for a bit of a loop...personally, I would've loved to meet everyone face to face at the traditional MMIs. Bcastle is right in the fact that the general consensus of all the previous UBC BSN forums state we all enter the interviews as equals...this might be a sigh of relief for some, and a tragedy for those who were hoping to sail in on a high GPA...realistically, I think this situation is nerve wracking for everyone. Personally, I dont think the info on our supplementals will be pertinent to the interview...my best guess is...strengths, weaknesses, work your way through an ethical dilemma.Unfortunately, small likelihood of an online dance-off, lip-sync for your life, or swimsuit competition:(
