University of British Columbia (UBC) BSN September 2016 Applicants

Published

For all of us applying to UBC's BSN 2016 program, let's communicate, share and give encouragement to one another throughout the process.

I just submitted my general UBC application to get the ball rolling early, and it already gave me access to get started on my supplemental application. This is my second time applying, so I hope to do a better job on my app this year and at least get an interview. But I have also accepted that this may not be my fate and I have other options.

Incidentally, to others who also applied previously: I phoned to make sure all my transcripts were still on file, and they are not! UBC admissions discards everything from last year. So I have six transcripts to send in again (including high school). Expensive and time consuming, and also seems a little crazy in the age of computers that they didn't keep electronic copies. But, we do what we have to do... Good luck everyone!

Just a heads up to all you hopefuls. I got my interview invitation last year today. I know it's a holiday but my fingers are crossed for you. And if you've already received an invite then congratulations!! :nurse:

There are 216 interviews being given.

How did you find out this number?

Those are good odds. Considering there are 120 seats and 25 people will get waitlisted (which apparently, almost always results in getting a seat).

I think Futurenursling assumed 216 interviews are given from the doodle page. There are 216 time slots? :) Maybe they're just being flexible with time options

Admissions told my friend 216 in an email

Congratulations to those who got an interview! For those who are still waiting and has not gotten an email yet (myself included), there is still hope. Hang in there :)

Just to clarify: Did you receive your invite on your regular email (i.e gmail/yahoo/hotmail) account?

Yup, I believe it would be whatever email you used to apply.

Hi, I haven't commented in this thread yet but I also have been invited for an interview and I did receive the e-mail in my regular (gmail) account!

Thank you :)

It's gonna be a long week for us :nurse:

Got my interview email last night around 7 (I am in Toronto, so the time difference accounted for that). SUPER NERVOUS. Any current students here to share their words of wisdom? :)

Its strange, I was so stressed about getting an interview, and now I am so stressed about not making errors in registering for and prepping for the interview. I have to be honest, the doodle app for booking the interview messed me up because I was assuming it would email a confirmation to my address and I booked the time in a rush...a stressed rush, because slots were disappearing. I am 95% sure of the time and date I booked, but am so stressed I might have it wrong...I feel like Im not alone in this...gotta get up the courage and email Ruxandra, to confirm but I am afraid of looking incompetent. Just gotta do it!...I really hope to hear more great news from everyone else after this weekend...fingers still crossed for everyone.

Dont forget to sign up for doodlr with name+student # !! I forgot my student number, so I had to sign up for a second time slot :)

to those who havent used doodle yet...write the time you are about to book, before you book it!...there is no confirmation email so far from doodle. Dont be like me and book in a jittery garble of excitement and nerves.
