For all of us applying to UBC's BSN 2016 program, let's communicate, share and give encouragement to one another throughout the process.
I just submitted my general UBC application to get the ball rolling early, and it already gave me access to get started on my supplemental application. This is my second time applying, so I hope to do a better job on my app this year and at least get an interview. But I have also accepted that this may not be my fate and I have other options.
Incidentally, to others who also applied previously: I phoned to make sure all my transcripts were still on file, and they are not! UBC admissions discards everything from last year. So I have six transcripts to send in again (including high school). Expensive and time consuming, and also seems a little crazy in the age of computers that they didn't keep electronic copies. But, we do what we have to do... Good luck everyone!
I got my interview confirmation email at 3:12pm PSTime.
For anyone reading in future years, last year (2015) my subject line of my rejection email was "UBC School of Nursing - Applicant Review Information". This year (2016), I was overcome by simultaneous multiple emotions to scream, laugh, cry, and just ultimately freak out when I saw the subject line "UBC School of Nursing - Interview Invitation". So that's all you need to look for.
Incidentally, yesterday, I re-read my rejection email from last year and pretended I had just received it, just so I could try and get this whole thing out of my head. Of course, it didn't work. I proceeded to discuss with my husband (for the umpteenth time) how me going to UBC would be so amazing and life-changing for our who family.
I got an interview and I am so happy, excited, nervous and relieved, among other things! I have been checking my email so much this week, but I wasn't even thinking about the interviews when I saw the email in my clutter folder. I received my email at 4:24pm PST and when I signed up for my interview time, about twenty minutes ago, I think there were around 120 people signed up, but I don't know if that would include people who signed up to change an original time slot. Sending positive thoughts to anyone who hasn't heard yet
I know that in the previous years, the interview was worth 100%. Meaning your marks and supplementals don't matter anymore at the interview stage. But the interview changed this year and it got reduced from like...1.5 hr to 15 min. So I'm wondering if they would really decide who to give a seat in just 15 mins...
correct me if I'm wrong, but does the email say 15 min with two panel interviewers for you guys too?

for those that have gotten interviews, are you able to see how many people have signed up for interviews?
