I had to wear all white and yes, they will give you the name tag.
I was 8 months pregnant at the time and I looked like a big marshmallow. If anyone needs some big fitting scrubs, they are more than welcome to have them.

Medic2RN didn't look like a marshmallow any more than I did - and no one would buy my story that I was pregnant too.
These are definitely one-time-use uniforms!

What are you allowed to wear the first day? I thought in the study guide it said something about wearing casual clothes since you are just in the lab. What do they consider acceptable?
You're right, I think it does say casual dress for the labs on the first day. What did all you CPNE veterans wear on the first day?

Well since my skin is brown, I have to wear black underwear. The white will show clearly, and as big as my butt is, it'll be the mane attraction. LOL.
But I'm wondering about my hair. It is naturally very curly, about shoulder length, and defies gravity. When it put it up I look like a poodle, with a big curly puff on top of my head. DH says it's cute, but I think not.
I guess it'll be CPNE over beauty.
What is the no identifying about Sue?
Dream Nurse, there are heavier-weight scrubs out there, made of twill. http://www.jascouniforms.com has some called "can't see through me."
I don't know how to advise on hair, except that I would bring whatever you'd normally use to keep you hair back and run it by the instructor on the casual dress day, y'know? Then you're covered.
Oh, the identification thing - don't wer anything embroidered with your name, title, anything. Don't wear a name tag. You will be identified and addressed by the instructor and "student" and you will address the examiner as "instructor."
Like we don't have enough to be nervous about!

Well, I do appreciate the comment, but I KNOW I had some gravitational pull going on!!! LOL!!
BTW, my 'marshmallow' just turned 2!
