UNF BSN SUMMER 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey guys,

I wanted to start a thread for any students applying to University of North Florida's BSN program Summer 2019. I am currently a student at UNF finishing up my last few pre-reqs for the nursing program. I am super excited and also slightly (actually very) nervous about applying to UNF's program since it is so competitive. I will have a 3.9 GPA if I finish with A's in the two pre-req courses I am taking this semester. I have yet to take the TEAS but have been studying as much as I can through the ATI Testing website and will be taking it in October. Any advice is appreciated, and I hope to hear from any future applicants! :)

Hey guys! So we are just a few days away and many of us went to the workshop. How do feel about it and did you learn anything that stands out from the workshop?

Something that stood out to me was that they don’t exactly pick people to match particular profile, so it’s interesting as to what exactly the interviewers are really looking for in you. I assume they would really have to go with their gut.

i feel super nervous for the interview but the workshop was very insightful.

i also wonder what the interviewers are really looking for and how they select their choices.

one thing that stood out to me was how much the current students emphasized that the interview is more of a conversation than a business interview. i hope that is true as that seems a little less stressful!

wishing you (& everyone) the best of luck!

hi all!

attempting to prep for the interview and thought it might be a good idea to research some of the faculty members that might possibly be the interviewers for our groups.

is anyone aware of the individuals who are more likely going to be interviewing from UNF's college of nursing?

or does anyone have any other tips and tricks for prepping for the interview?

thanks!

So I have also thought about doing this lately, I think it might be good to get an idea of who will be interviewing us. But there is a chance we are going to have interviewers that are not faculty members so I’m not going to look too much into it. I have been practicing common questions, and writing my answers down as I go. I am very nervous, but hopefully it is a relaxed setting like past interviewees have said!

I really think the interviewers are looking at our personalities the most. They just want to get to now who we really are and how well we will work as a nurse. I think if we just give honest answers, that they will know how to judge us. Overall, just being yourself while having thought out answers will work best ?

I think you’re right about all of that! I can’t believe we are already almost there.

Anyone have the 8:30am slot too?

Good luck everyone!!

I have an 11:30am slot. I wish you the best of luck! Any others with an 11:30am interview?

We did it everyone! Interviews are finished. Now we just wait!

I genuinely enjoyed the interview process today (nerves aside of course.)

Good luck for Monday everyone!

Hello, I wish you all the best and enjoy your weekend before the big news this Monday!! I am applying for FALL 2019 and I am super nervous! Do you guys mind telling me your experiences during the whole interview process? Thank you!

Did anyone else feel like they really nailed the interview? lol my group was very relaxed and I really felt like at least two of us did phenomenally. I’m wondering if it’s just the UNF culture to make you feel like you did really well (because they’re all so nice!). It was 100% different than the other school(s) I’ve interviewed for. If love to hear everyone’s thoughts on the day!!!

@LoveBee YES. My interviewers were so great and kept mentioning how awesome we did. I’m trying not to think about it too much because I’m in the same boat!! Hoping for the best.
