UNF BSN SUMMER 2019

Published

Hey guys,

I wanted to start a thread for any students applying to University of North Florida's BSN program Summer 2019. I am currently a student at UNF finishing up my last few pre-reqs for the nursing program. I am super excited and also slightly (actually very) nervous about applying to UNF's program since it is so competitive. I will have a 3.9 GPA if I finish with A's in the two pre-req courses I am taking this semester. I have yet to take the TEAS but have been studying as much as I can through the ATI Testing website and will be taking it in October. Any advice is appreciated, and I hope to hear from any future applicants! :)

I registered! I figured out that when I was copying and pasting the link there were unnecessary spaces in the link that made it not work so after I noticed and removed the spaces the original link worked for me. ?

Thank you to both of you! I’m now registered. ?

hey everyone!

as the interview date gets closer, I was curious if anyone had any information about what to expect? i know the general stuff (4 non-medical questions, 3 interviewers(ish), group interview, and such) but i wasn't sure if anyone had friends in the program that had gone through the process!

wishing you guys all the best as decisions start to come out! loo forward to meeting some of you at the workshop!

When I interviewed for the previous term, it was somewhat relaxed. Once I found the correct building I was asked to first go to the table and make sure all of my contact info was correct. After that they give you your name tag and tell you what group you are in (everyone is just kinda gathered around the lobby at this time). You have a good amount of time to mingle with your specific interview group (about 5 people) so make use of this time the best you can! It helps to build a little bit of a relationship with everyone so when you are interviewing with them in the group, it kinda just feels more natural. Plus everyone was very nice in my experience!

From there they eventually move you to a room to try on the uniform shirts (if needed) so they can go ahead and know the size you need if admitted into the program. After that, they bring you to one of their classrooms where students talk to you and calm your nerves/answer questions before the lead faculty comes in there to speak to your entire time slot group. Once that is finished you are taken to the designated interview room. My group had 3 interviewers. The whole process took about 45 minutes. They asked us probably 5 non-medical so they could get to know us as a person and get a feel for our character. It was generally pretty relaxed because it felt more like a group conversation. Definitely just stay calm, think through your words, and be yourself! The anticipation is actually much worse than the interview itself, which was actually not very bad at all.

Hope this helped! I’m looking forward to March 8th!

No worries! Glad it helped ?

I got the email for the interview instructions from a Beth today and my mind is really in high gear thinking about the interview! I’m so nervous but excited and trying to be as optimistic as possible.

How does everyone feel?

I am so excited and nervous at the same time, but I think once it’s time to interview my nerves will calm down. I feel confident in interview settings, it’s just the anticipation that’s killing me haha. When I read the email I thought it was crazy that if we’re accepted we only have a few days to accept/reject. Not even a full week!

That’s the best way to be! Yeah the interview is not anything like the mere anticipation?

I thought the same thing! That has to be kinda rough on those who are waiting on different factors that go into their decision making.

I am wondering how everyone has been preparing for the interview? I have spoken to a few people that have already been accepted into the nursing program and they have given some advice, such as recording yourself to see how you answer possible questions. Has anyone done anything else yet to prepare? Also, I am very nervous/excited for the interview process!

Hey guys!

Is anyone driving to the interview workshop from UF/Gainesville on Saturday? If so, I would be very appreciative for a ride! I'll pay for gas money/food as well.

Thank you guys and good luck!
