UNC BSN 2015

Hi all, I just submitted my UNC BSN application for the Summer 2015 program and I wanted to start this thread. I'm super anxious about waiting for the decision especially since there are so many that typically apply. Anyone else applying? Are there any current UNC students that have some insight about the program or admissions?

I'm really sorry to hear about the large number of qualified candidates that they cut. I applied to the regular BSN program because I wanted to take my time with it all. However, if things don't work out at least the next round of ABSN students will graduate at the same time. I'm just so tired of waiting and am ready to get the ball rolling with my career. I graduated this past May from my first degree and wanted to gain some NA experience in the hospital, but wasn't planning on taking off anymore time. I still really have my heart set on this particular program and all I can do now is continue waiting. I know things will work out for everyone and good luck to those still waiting.

Yeah I'm also really sorry to hear about the second degree students who weren't accepted, and based only on having pre-reqs still in progress...Wow. The process seems unfair when they didn't mention anything about it beforehand. Good luck getting off the waitlist RedtoBlue, you seem like a really strong candidate. And my portal hasn't updated yet either, but the letter said it will update no later than March 18th. Good luck to anyone still waiting to hear back.

Hey, everyone I am so sorry to hear a lot of qualified applicants got cut. Yea my letter was dated March 5th got here so fast. I am a third degree applicant but I didn't have any Healthcare or volunteer experience so I was shocked when I got accepted.

My portal is still not updated. Basically I just turned in my acceptance letter and they said I didn't have to do anything else until the pre orientation on 21st march. I am still waiting to see if I get any financial aid from duke before I turn duke down.

Hey Cje or anyone else who would know, by what date do you need to accept your offer?

It says you have to let them know of your acceptance or rejection by March 13th

This is probably due to the fact that their pre-orientation is going to be the weekend on the 21st or 22nd

We had to accept by march 13th. I am thinking they would pull the waitlist people within a few days after. They prob want to have everyone at the pre orientation on the 21st march.

Called the office. They are unsure why I did not get my letter yet...SO THEY ARE SENDING IT VIA EMAIL TODAY!!! I'm so nervous :dead:
