  1. I did the PVT and found out yesterday I passed!
  2. So my entire nursing program used PP for classes and I also learn best by writing. I started out just trying to memorize the slides, then when I started writing them out (in my own words) by test grades when up a letter. I'd recommend just writing out the notes in a way that makes sense to you, especially if you know that's how you learn best. good luck!
  3. Hey there, I took the NCLEX yesterday and mine cut off at 75 too. I do know from reading this forum and talking with nurses, that if it cuts off at 75, you more than likely passed. The test is designed to be difficult because remember if you get a question right, it gives you a harder one. So the computers ultimate goal is to have you miss every other question so it can decide where you "ceiling" of competency is. Take deep breathes because I'm sure you passed. It's ok to miss questions. Another tip is if the questions gave scenarios, had you evaluate priority in terms of "who do you see first," evaluate teaching, etc; those are the types of questions above the passing line. Hope this helps calm your nerves :)
  4. The doctor put the order in right!
  5. Response to an adult pt asking if a pelvic exam will hurt.. "not more then the sex you had earlier..."
  6. I've heard through the grapevine Rex has like 7 CNAs graduating nursing school in the ED so they aren't planning on hiring outside of that pool.. that's just word of mouth though.
  7. How did you find out? Did they call you?
  8. Nope.. guess that answers my question. Congrats!
  9. I applied/interviewed to the MSICU and they said they will have a decision made by yesterday... haven't heard anything yet.
  10. Hi all, I applied to Rex as well for a few of their programs and have an interviewed scheduled with ICU. I applied on the 3rd and heard about an interview on the 13th; my other applications with them I've heard nothing from. Good luck to all:)
  11. Hey there, just dropping a note that the final decisions were made last Thursday so letters should be coming soon!!! Good luck everyone!
  12. Thank you all for your input! I think i'm just struggling because I had higher expectations for myself so I feel like i'm constantly letting myself down. I'm really trying to look forward and take one day at a time.
  13. Hi all, I am currently in my first semester of an ABSN program that lasts 18 months. This program is very front-loaded so we have 8 classes this semester and I must say it has been incredibly difficult. I went into nursing school knowing it would be hard and stressful, however I wasn't prepared for how defeated I would feel. It feels like no matter how hard I study I can only manage a grade in the 80s and i'm just making it through one day at a time. There is no way that I can get ahead.. the amount of work I know I have this week is already stressing me out. I guess I just need some hope from those who have graduated or those who are almost done that it does get better.. We start clinicals in May and I'm so excited to start with actual patient care instead of sitting in classrooms all day. Right now though I'm just feeling so down and really lacking motivation in all parts of my life because it feels no matter how hard I try it's not good enough. I must say this program is really getting to me and that was something I didn't expect. Thanks in advance for your input and understanding :)
