Umson spring 2016 applicants

Published

Hello, all!

My name is Christina Smith! I know I started this thread a little soon, but I am sure others are just as anxious as I am about applying! I have submitted my application for the spring 2016 program :cat: I just want to post some background information about myself, and anyone who has been accepted to previous semesters can share some insight with me if the wish!

I have a 3.9 GPA. My science gpa is as follows:

A: A&P 1

A: A&P 2

B Micro (Which was taken in 5 weeks, do they view the length of the semester?!)

I have gotten As in all of my other courses, and just need algebra and chemistry (which I am taking together this fall.)

I have been a CNA for 2.5 years, and have worked as a med tech for 14 months, and have recently been employed by Carroll Hospital as a MED/SURG PCT.

I have not taken my TEAS, but have purchased a study guide and plan to STUDY STUDY STUDY!!

I was accepted into my community college's ADN program, but I want to step outside my comfort zone and head towards my dream school. I am so nervous!!!!!!!!!

Has anyone else had a similar problem? I called admissions and she stated whatever campus is in bold on my acceptance letter is the campus I am attending... That is strange that someone told you the opposite...Hm...

That is the number I called earlier and spoke with the desk clerk. She looked into my account and told me that she would forward this message to admissions. So I am not sure if we are having the same problem...Hm...Hopefully it is not a problem though!!

Shady Grove Applicants: Did your letters all state the UMB (main) campus? Hopefully everyone has the same letter and I am not irrationally panicking hahaha

I actually spoke with a friend who was accepted to Shady Grove, and her acceptance letter specified Shady Grove!

Hi there,

I received my acceptance letter and an email from the program manager early today. However, the letter specified Shady Grove, but I prefer Baltimore campus, since it's closer and heard clinicals are across the street. So, I spoke to the admission lady and she was able fix and switch my campus to what I had originally picked. Hopefully, that'll open a door for someone who applied at Shady Groves. :) I sent my $400 non-refundable deposit receipt in the mail today, and have registered for my Orientation Registration and SSIP introduction. [For those wondering on my stats, I got an 83% on my TEAS (77% on my 1st try two years ago), 3.8 GPA, Phlebotomy Technician/CPR certified, graduated with AA, and honors from Phi Theta Kappa in 2013, I made sure my essay matched my resume. Let me also say, I'm in my 30's, and taking College Algebra this fall.] Hope this helps understand what to expect after being admitted.

How did you contact admissions??? I have reached out to two different members of admissions and no reply..so frustrating

I called the number in the acceptance letter, last four ending in xxx-0501. I also replied to e-mail the program manager sent me this morning.

I have not heard from ANYONE yet...I recieved a letter and status change but have yet to get a call!

I got accepted at Shady grove campus. Good luck to everyone!!!

Did you email the program manager? They are usually really good at returning my calls and emails, promptly. Hopefully you'll get a call or a reply by tomorrow.

For some reason I can't send PMs. I was accepted to Baltimore's campus. My letter came in, but I'm at school and told everyone at home not to open it lol. I'm going home tomorrow for break and hopefully it has the right campus. We shall see :(

I applied to Baltimore campus and my letter says UMB location. I hope everyone gets this worked out!
