Hello, all!
My name is Christina Smith! I know I started this thread a little soon, but I am sure others are just as anxious as I am about applying! I have submitted my application for the spring 2016 program I just want to post some background information about myself, and anyone who has been accepted to previous semesters can share some insight with me if the wish!
I have a 3.9 GPA. My science gpa is as follows:
A: A&P 1
A: A&P 2
B Micro (Which was taken in 5 weeks, do they view the length of the semester?!)
I have gotten As in all of my other courses, and just need algebra and chemistry (which I am taking together this fall.)
I have been a CNA for 2.5 years, and have worked as a med tech for 14 months, and have recently been employed by Carroll Hospital as a MED/SURG PCT.
I have not taken my TEAS, but have purchased a study guide and plan to STUDY STUDY STUDY!!
I was accepted into my community college's ADN program, but I want to step outside my comfort zone and head towards my dream school. I am so nervous!!!!!!!!!
I was going to apply to Hopkins, but I saw you must have a previous Bachelor degree so that was not an option for me. It just depends what you want...UMSON tuition is what attracted me. It is extremely prestigious and reasonably priced. Hopkins is ridiculously priced. Is that Hopkins name worth the additional THOUSANDS you will spend? It is all what matters most to you!! That is a pretty awesome decision to have to make, though congrats!!
So I contacted admissions about how my acceptance letter says the wrong campus. The office clerk took my message and said she would touch base with the director and assistant director of admissions...I also emailed the assitant director. I did this at 9am and have no heard anything. Soooo frustrating! I do not want to submit my deposit until this is settled. Sooo frustrating
wow that is very frustrating. Hopefully they get back to you today! I wonder if they just sent you the wrong letter by accident? That is still a pretty serious mistake to make though.
That is interesting you need a Bachelor's for Hopkins! I was surprised to see how many people applying to UMSON already have a Bachelors degree as well.
I know..You see I initially applied to the Baltimore campus, but after visiting and being absolutely petrified,I called and asked to be switched to Shady Grove. The assitant director of admissions approved this, and sent me a confimation email (this was at the end of July). Luckily, I saved all the emails and forwarded them to the school. It is just frustrating because I want to get this process on the road but need this major problem to be settled first!
Has anyone been able to get through to the admissions office for nursing? I've been trying to reach someone regarding when the decisions will be made. We were told by Friday for everyone (including the people that will be rejected) and that did not happen. Gosh I hate playing the waiting game. I'm still optimistic however I am sick of it saying committee ready
I used the email that is on the website and someone responded within an hour last Friday saying that they were doing their best to get back to everyone before the holiday.
I tried to call a few times last week and even left a message and never heard from anyone so I would try and email them if you wanted to get in touch with someone.
I think the acceptance does not indicate which campus. I believe it is a generic acceptance letter. I called them today to verify, no reply. I called Shady Grove and Ms. Devers stated that all admissions points out to the main campus. She said if you indicated that you want shady grove, then assume that you are placed there. She did say that only the main campus can confirm which one at this point because she does not have a list yet. Hopefully this get sorted out. They are really busy
