Hello, all!
My name is Christina Smith! I know I started this thread a little soon, but I am sure others are just as anxious as I am about applying! I have submitted my application for the spring 2016 program I just want to post some background information about myself, and anyone who has been accepted to previous semesters can share some insight with me if the wish!
I have a 3.9 GPA. My science gpa is as follows:
A: A&P 1
A: A&P 2
B Micro (Which was taken in 5 weeks, do they view the length of the semester?!)
I have gotten As in all of my other courses, and just need algebra and chemistry (which I am taking together this fall.)
I have been a CNA for 2.5 years, and have worked as a med tech for 14 months, and have recently been employed by Carroll Hospital as a MED/SURG PCT.
I have not taken my TEAS, but have purchased a study guide and plan to STUDY STUDY STUDY!!
I was accepted into my community college's ADN program, but I want to step outside my comfort zone and head towards my dream school. I am so nervous!!!!!!!!!
I've been looking (*stalking*) the past threads and it doesn't seem like it happens too often. Of course it does occasionally so you really never know!! Just try to stay positive =] (easier said than done of course). I'm just trying to look at it as you are more likely to get in the second or third time when your application rolls over, at least from what I have read. Obviously not ideal, but we have a chance!:DHang in there everyone!
This thread has helped me so much. I'm glad we can vent here and support each other. Thank you all!!!
I can't believe I'm likely going to have no school to attend in spring :-( I looked into the CNA thing, and while I'll probably consider it since it'll give me some medical experience, the pay seems to be awful! I know retail workers who make more! Anyone else have any suggestions similar to the CNA one? No suggestions for taking more classes though, my GPA is plenty high enough and I don't plan to take any more college courses unless they are directly contingent to my earning a BSN
@marebear82189 I'm right there with you. I have good grades and will have all my prerequisites finished this semester so I don't want to take any more classes. I also got a near perfect TEAS score so I won't retake that. Not sure what to do this spring to make my application better than it already is:(( this sucks
Well being on the waitlist didn't work out for me at any point... So maybe everyone else has better luck. I've heard it's extremely difficult to get into, it's ranked 6th in the nation j believe and the applicant pool is huge compared to the number of spots offered (around 50 for Shady grove)
