Hello, all!
My name is Christina Smith! I know I started this thread a little soon, but I am sure others are just as anxious as I am about applying! I have submitted my application for the spring 2016 program I just want to post some background information about myself, and anyone who has been accepted to previous semesters can share some insight with me if the wish!
I have a 3.9 GPA. My science gpa is as follows:
A: A&P 1
A: A&P 2
B Micro (Which was taken in 5 weeks, do they view the length of the semester?!)
I have gotten As in all of my other courses, and just need algebra and chemistry (which I am taking together this fall.)
I have been a CNA for 2.5 years, and have worked as a med tech for 14 months, and have recently been employed by Carroll Hospital as a MED/SURG PCT.
I have not taken my TEAS, but have purchased a study guide and plan to STUDY STUDY STUDY!!
I was accepted into my community college's ADN program, but I want to step outside my comfort zone and head towards my dream school. I am so nervous!!!!!!!!!
Eh, after excessively checking and knowing my luck, I'm not expecting a change in status tonight, tomorrow, or Thursday. I'd expect Friday just because that's the last day of the week and if admissions meant what they said, we'd know if we were accepted, waitlisted, or rejected by then. Hang in there guys, even though I know it's hard to stay positive.
@kmichellex No, It doesn't mean you're accepted the next semester. HOWEVER, I did speak to someone on the phone after I was waitlisted last semester and asked them if I could take my application out of their system and start a new one (I thought it would look better that way). She told me no because if anything, it looks better that next semester when you are applying that you were put on the waitlist. So, I think that's a big reason I got in this time. So if you're on the waitlist, try and retake the TEAS (I had a 78 which isn't great but it got me in), maybe get some volunteer experience or even your CNA (that's what I did), retake classes, etc.
I'd definitely say that in the end, when you let your application roll over to next semester (and they waive the application fee which is awesome) it looks better to the admissions department that you were put on the waitlist the previous semester. Because they wanted you, but just didn't have the space.
Even though you are on the waitlist, don't lose hope for this semester! You could always be offered a seat if someone declines :)
Say whaaaaa? For some reason I never even bothered looking into those things. I always felt it would take at least a year or more to earn any kind of "title" i.e. RN, CRNA, LPN, etc... and being who I am, I decided go big or go home and immediately set out for a BSN. thanks for informing me of this, I will definitely do that if I get waitlisted or rejected!
Anyone who was accepted want to start a fb group? I'm dying to know what my schedule will be
(BTW, Im checking at the times of the comments and they are totally off, I am writing this at 19:59, as I type.)
There is actually a fb page for accepted students for our year group. After you get your call she will tell you to send her a request

I've come to the conclusion that I will never get an answer and should prepare myself for spending eternity in limbo
