My name is Christina Smith! I know I started this thread a little soon, but I am sure others are just as anxious as I am about applying! I have submitted my application for the spring 2016 program I just want to post some background information about myself, and anyone who has been accepted to previous semesters can share some insight with me if the wish!
I have a 3.9 GPA. My science gpa is as follows:
A: A&P 1
A: A&P 2
B Micro (Which was taken in 5 weeks, do they view the length of the semester?!)
I have gotten As in all of my other courses, and just need algebra and chemistry (which I am taking together this fall.)
I have been a CNA for 2.5 years, and have worked as a med tech for 14 months, and have recently been employed by Carroll Hospital as a MED/SURG PCT.
I have not taken my TEAS, but have purchased a study guide and plan to STUDY STUDY STUDY!!
I was accepted into my community college's ADN program, but I want to step outside my comfort zone and head towards my dream school. I am so nervous!!!!!!!!!
Congratulations!!!!!! Still committee ready here! I'm fine, though. I'd like to get in, obviously, but I know I'll be starting a nursing program in the spring either way, so it's okay.
I wish they gave out the rejections at the same time that they gave out acceptances and waitlists. I'd rather be instantly disappointed with a rejection rather than slowly lose hope as each new day passes only to find out I was rejected. Drawing out the rejections til after the others seems cruel lol I don't have any medical job experience, and after hearing everyone else's glowing admission stats, I don't think I made it can't lie, If I didn't make it I'll be super disappointed. Nothing would be more disappointing than busting your butt to make straight As and still not be deemed good enough :-\ hang in there all you stragglers who haven't gotten word yet, I'm right there with u
Hey you guys! So I just got home from work and boy am I exhausted. So I decided to check on my status and I was in for a shock. I GOT ACCEPTED TO THE BALTIMORE CAMPUS! I seriously was NOT expecting to get admitted AT ALL. I was already set on going to Towson because my hopes were going down because of the long wait. So now I am seriously in a pickle.
I already spent 300 dollars on Towson and did an enrollment contract fee to the university itself. Now I'm not sure if I'm required to attend there since I did sign an enrollment contract fee. Has anyone gone through this before? I had to do it though because I did not want to lose my seat if I didn't get in. Also, anyone know how much would the fee be for UMSON? I'm seriously financially struggling
You will just lose the 300. I'm a student at Towson now and accepted their offer since I hadn't heard back from UMSON. I called them today to let them know I wasn't going to attend their program anymore and they said just to submit it in writing.
So my TEAS score wasn't that great, I had a 69% overall. I had a good score on the Science portion. I have test anxiety and ADHD but I am so motivated to become the best nurse I can be and it shows. My GPA is a 3.6 and I am 27 years old (TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY)! I am a mommy of two beautiful young girls, a wife since 2008 and now TERP!!!!!!!! I'm actually in!!!!
So, I just checked for some reason, thinking it wasn't possible for my status to change this late (I checked at about 8 and no change) AND IT DID! I'M IN GUYS! OH MY GOD. THEY WANT ME!
@Rosie43 Thanks for answering my question! I was very worried that I was required to go there since i signed a contract. Sucks that I already paid 300 bucks though But very grateful for the chance to attend UMSON!
@Amandaniziolek Happy Birthday and congrats on your acceptance! :DD I find it great that UMSON doesn't look at just your TEAS score and includes everything in the package :)
@astran I wasn't expecting a decision either this late, but that goes to show how hardworking they are right now to get decisions made asap, congrats on your acceptance!

Congrats to you too! This is the best moment of my life! I can't believe I heard so late. I'm pacing in my kitchen with no one to celebrate with! Hahaha
