My name is Christina Smith! I know I started this thread a little soon, but I am sure others are just as anxious as I am about applying! I have submitted my application for the spring 2016 program I just want to post some background information about myself, and anyone who has been accepted to previous semesters can share some insight with me if the wish!
I have a 3.9 GPA. My science gpa is as follows:
A: A&P 1
A: A&P 2
B Micro (Which was taken in 5 weeks, do they view the length of the semester?!)
I have gotten As in all of my other courses, and just need algebra and chemistry (which I am taking together this fall.)
I have been a CNA for 2.5 years, and have worked as a med tech for 14 months, and have recently been employed by Carroll Hospital as a MED/SURG PCT.
I have not taken my TEAS, but have purchased a study guide and plan to STUDY STUDY STUDY!!
I was accepted into my community college's ADN program, but I want to step outside my comfort zone and head towards my dream school. I am so nervous!!!!!!!!!
All I know is I will let you all know when my decision changes, and what it changes to! Good or bad. We made it this far, so there is no such thing as failure :)
Now that we are getting so close, I am punching myself for not having a backup plan. If I don't get accepted, I will probably pick up full-time at work and save some money and hope for the best for the fall! But I am trying to think positive ~sigh~
Isn't it horrible that we prepare ourselves for the worst?! Like you said last week, I am second guessing all the components of my application! I just want to hear something from one of you! I don't care if I don't hear first, just to know one of you have gotten in will make me so happy. This is an amazing site!
madmls, I know in a previous post you said you were an RN-to-BSN applicant. I'm not sure if traditional BSN decisions are being released yet because those are two entirely different programs... But then again, there was a RN-to-BSN applicant that I know of who received their decision almost 2 weeks ago... I think I'm just thinking it's too good to be true that BSN decisions might be coming out now
So, tomorrow is the Marine Corps Birthday. And myself being prior, I kinda hoped I would find out tomorrow. Like a birthday present. Lol But yea, this has me questioning everything. I've even started looking up other nursing schools to apply to in the fall along with this one to help my chances. So sad. Lol
I know Grey Lady said before that the programs are ENTIRELY different and that the decisions made in regards to the RN to BSN do not reflect anything about the tradition BSN program. So..I feel as though we definitely have some time to wait!
I am typing a paper, while going back and forth between my paper and allnurses. And I have my phone pushed away but my eyes keep creeping over to it, hoping (maybe) my phone lights up with a 410-706 number. Haha! I am trying to get back to my "Whatever happens, happens" attitude
