Umson spring 2016 applicants

Published

Hello, all!

My name is Christina Smith! I know I started this thread a little soon, but I am sure others are just as anxious as I am about applying! I have submitted my application for the spring 2016 program :cat: I just want to post some background information about myself, and anyone who has been accepted to previous semesters can share some insight with me if the wish!

I have a 3.9 GPA. My science gpa is as follows:

A: A&P 1

A: A&P 2

B Micro (Which was taken in 5 weeks, do they view the length of the semester?!)

I have gotten As in all of my other courses, and just need algebra and chemistry (which I am taking together this fall.)

I have been a CNA for 2.5 years, and have worked as a med tech for 14 months, and have recently been employed by Carroll Hospital as a MED/SURG PCT.

I have not taken my TEAS, but have purchased a study guide and plan to STUDY STUDY STUDY!!

I was accepted into my community college's ADN program, but I want to step outside my comfort zone and head towards my dream school. I am so nervous!!!!!!!!!

I didn't mean to make everyone even more anxious/nervous I just couldn't help but to update you guys the moment she told me! She said notifications should start to come out today and the weeks following. I know there are plenty of other people who aren't on this forum... it would be brutal if no one on this forum found out until later and those that do find out aren't here to update us

The WEEKS following???? Ugh!!

Now I'm going to break my record for the number of times I check the application status in 1 day.

Weeks? How on earth does it take them that long? That aggrivates me. Think about it, if you gave one employee the sole task of updating online AND making phone calls, it could be done by ONE employee easy in less than a week, even if there are several hundred applications. I don't understand what on earth would take them so long. That is unless, the "process" is soooo much more complicated and they just "happen" to not get admissions out until after the 9th....

I'm praying they come out before the 9th so I don't lose complete faith in humanity lol I didn't even apply to any other schools, but the idea that others may be getting screwed over really upsets me

Honestly, admissions would probably laugh at how pathetic we are

I will admit, I am pretty pathetic right now :p but I am still trying to remain calm. I am at my school's library trying to get a bunch of assignments done just to keep me busy.

In the past, it seems like the people who were prov admits were notified pretty quickly. On one of the forums, some people were not notified until DECEMBER!! But I am assuming those were people who were probably on the border? I don't know, these are all speculations. But I am still hoping at least one of us hears back?

Is there anyone who has all of their prereqs completed on this forum?

LOL!!!!! We do seem pathetic. LOL!!! I have all my prereqs completed so I spent the summer moving and getting settled.

So now I'm pretty calm. Watching Paw Patrol with the little one and keeping busy.

I'm not sure how the process works but notifications really do range from November-December (at least from what was noted on previous threads). If one of us hears back that will be a good sign that the decisions will start trickling out sooner, hopefully, than later!

casmithx95, I finished my last two pre-reqs in the summer so all my pre-reqs are finished. I've just been working and waiting for that decision to come out. I kind of wish I took a class during the Fall so I would have a distraction to keep me from thinking about the application haha

So as far as some people not hearing until dec... anyone know what kind of percentage we're talking? Do 90% hear from them in the first couple weeks of November? Or maybe 50%?

Someone needs to just put me out of my misery at this point lol

It seems as though only a few percent of people were waiting as late as December. I am sure most of the decisions come out the first two weeks of November. However, because Shady Grove expanded their class size, I wonder if this will add to the wait?

The funny thing is, I feel as though there is no reason why I should not get accepted (without sounding cocky, of course)

My grades are great. My TEAS score was great. My letters of recommendation were phenomenal. I have several years of CNA/GNA experience. My essays were fine (I think). Yet I am still freaking out!! I know there is no perfect recipe in order to get accepted, which is why I am probably so anxious. Gosh I hope just ONE of us hears back today so the rest of us will have faith!

I think probably those that were wait listed were the ones who were finding out in December. I'm pretty sure that those who are offered a spot have two weeks from their date of their receiving a letter to accept or not. Then based on that they start offering people spots on the wait list

Nope! I saw like 3 or 4 acceptances on the last forum that were in mid December!
