REMINDER!!! The deadline to submit your Fall application is nearing. As of now, the deadline has not changed from February 2 (short of 4 weeks away).
This is my second time applying--I was wait listed for the Spring term. Currently, I am studying to take my TEAS exam again on January 27th. This exam was the only portion of my application I was not confident in. I scored a 70% without refreshing my memory on key concepts by studying before hand. I did find the test to be a "you either no it or you don't" kind of thing so from personal experience--STUDY!
I have no outstanding prerequisites and my sciences are as follows:
AP1. -- B
AP2. -- A
CHEM -- B
MICRO -- A
I had the privilege of chatting with the last group of students and found this forum to be quite helpful! Please use this post as a way of communicating, sharing experiences, and giving advice. Hopefully, we will be classmates in the Fall!:)
It can take a while to get "The Call." Last fall, others began receiving notifications, be it accepted, rejected, or waitlisted. A week into it, I still had heard noting. I think it took at least a week and a half or maybe even longer than two weeks for my notification.
I was driving in the car with my kids, and it was early evening, long past when I thought anyone would be in the office. The phone rang, and it was a Baltimore number. I figured it was a solicitation or something along those lines. I actually said to my daughters, "It's a Baltimore number, but there's no way it's Maryland calling." (I had JUST checked my status online.) But then I decided to check my status and the voicemail. Boy, was I wrong! I was a full "admit institution" because I had already successfully completed my prerequisite classes.
A longer wait prior to receiving a response is not a negative indicator. You could still get the news you want two weeks from now!
Any Shady Grove traditional BSN admits- please feel free to contact me or littlemango. We had (and have) some great mentors and we would love to do the same for you. Littlemango and I make a great team, and we love to help!

Hi, Everyone:
I was accepted for the spring 2015 around beginning of Dec. After waiting for a long time, after almost everyone got accepted and waitlisted my status changed to waitlist. Then after like 10 days, I was pulled of the waitlist and was accepted. I know atleast around 6 people who was picked of the waitlist for SG. So keep your hopes up and good luck. Since some of you guys still have to take classes over the summer, yours might be a little different from us. And I have heard some of the accepted students might have a change of heart during the summer ...so more spaces may open up.
