Hi All!
Starting a thread for CNL Applicants for Spring 2015! I'm very new to this website but looking forward to giving and receiving support though the application process. I've submitted my application already, pretty early I know, so I may not hear anything from them in for a while!
My undergrad degree was Biology from Towson, anyone else with similar background?
B.
Congrats to everyone that received the call. I am so excited to get on this journey. It will be so worth it when we are finishing up. I would be interested in the Facebook group, let me know if it gets off the ground. I am coming from southern Anne Arundel COunty, so if any of you are in the area, we might be able to commute together.
Thanks smoup, how will you rate the program so far? Also your career chances after school, I gave up offers for PA school for this...... hopefully I am not making a mistake
It's hard to rate the program not knowing what other programs are like. I don't regret doing the CNL program but would probably do some things different were I to do it again (like not work) UMSON has a very good NCLEX pass rate and placement rate after graduation, which is obviously important as well.
In the career aspect, I already have a job offer as well as two other places that want me to call after I pass the NCLEX. So, for me at least, it's been good. I've heard some of my classmates have direct/indirect offers from their practicum sites also.
Goodmorning,@smoup thanks for sharing about the class organization. If I understand from their website we are taking 15 units for most of the semesters and the program runs two years right? Are there any changes to that?
Nope, those are the changes. I had 18 credits (fall) , 3 credits (winter), 18 credits (spring), 9 credits (summer), 16 credits (fall).
I created a facebook group for all of us. Here is the address https://www.facebook.com/groups/UMSONCNLSpring2015/
It's a closed group, so I will have to approve you joining it, but after you are in anyone of the members can approve new members and add new members.
I am looking forward to getting to know all of you!
I can say they basically want to know what you understand by the role of a CNL, they want to know you and how passionate you are about becoming a nurse, how you intend to finance the program and your past and present experiences in life and how that has contributed towards your decision to become a nurse. You are also given the opportunity to ask questions if you have any. Hope this helps.
