  1. Hi everyone, I received my letter in the mail today. There are plenty of requirements to fulfill before orientation. Oooof
  2. Got stuck in traffic so hard to reschedule for my BLS training. I'm interested in joining the facebook group. Goodday
  3. Goodmorning, @smoup thanks for sharing about the class organization. If I understand from their website we are taking 15 units for most of the semesters and the program runs two years right? Are there any changes to that? I'm not very much a facebook person but I won't mind getting guidance on how to create a group for our cohort. Who is up to this? Right now I am going to do my BLS training to renew my certificate. I'll be back soon
  4. @ zolo my counsellor said they were mailing a packet the following day with all necessary documents including the acceptance/deposit payment paperwork. Also, we will have an online orientation. Two sessions are available for which we would have an opportunity to choose one.
  5. Ahhhhhhh everyone we rock congratulations to all who are in so far
  6. @ Bealadybug @ julesbaby1 Congrats Congrats Congrats We will sure be meeting soon. I'm so excited for us
  7. Good morning, @ Bealadybug congrats for your admission! My family recently moved to Burtonville, MD, so I am even closer to the Baltimore area. My commute to Baltimore now is only 35-42 mins. Anyone planning to commute or something :) i am so looking forward to the start of school. It's funny how I am currently in school still taking some prereqs and tutoring Microbiol and Chem. Yet I am ready for the hard work in Nursing school. Anyone else heard something? I keep my fingers crossed for you all
  8. A Shout out to 'little mango' I got in So happy guys I got into the CNL MS program for the non nurse at UMSON Baltimore. I received my phone call early at 08:15 a.m this morning and it appears I may be among the earliest accepted applicants. My letter will be mailed tomorrow and orientation will be online for us as advised. I understand I'm not going in for the BSN program but some guidance of any sort would still help. My CNL thread is not as robust as this one which is why I love this thread :)
  9. Hello, I was planning to join your thread but I won't since I got accepted elsewhere at the University of Maryland School of Nursing - their CNL program for the non nurse. I'm glad I did not have only Samuel Merritt U. to count on! As a wait listed candidate for the ELMSN FNP, Sacramento campus, my position went down from a #13 to an #8 in the last three weeks. But I am dropping SMU since UMSON is even better in my opinion :) I am so happy, and blessed that I don't have to go through another round of applications. The interviews and all the requirements can be nerve racking. I had an interview for the UMSON program as well so be prepared for an interview for Master level programs--- as an advise to those who don't know. And by the way I have never had any type of experience in Nursing and my Teas was not the best at 75.4 though all my prerequisite grades were As. I have received both a Bachelors and a Masters before, my recommendations were probably excellent from my professors here at the community college in Sacramento. And my essay possibly counted as well. Meaning that the overall package counts for admission into any institution, not just one factor. In this light, good luck to everyone out there seeking to enter a nursing program. My advise to you is if you have the means consider applying to different nursing programs just like I did. And be prepared for the hard work to put into Nursing school.
  10. Hello everyone, I'm glad I did not have only Samuel Merritt to count on for my nursing school applications! As a wait listed candidate for the ELMSN Sacramento campus, my position went down from a #13 to an #8 in the last three weeks. I just received a call early this morning for my admission into the University of Maryland School of Nursing --- CNL program for the non nurse. I am so happy, and blessed and I thank our LORD I don't have to go through another round of applications. Good luck to everyone out there seeking to enter a nursing program. My advise is that maybe don't base your applications in one school only. If you have the means consider applying to different nursing programs like I did and possibly other applicants
  11. Ok folks, I am still waitlisted at Samuel Merritt and my number went down to a #8 in the last three weeks But I got in to the University of Maryland in Baltimore School of Nursing. I am very happy that GOD blessed me. I will be starting school in the Spring of next year. SO SO happy. Fortunately enough I was not counting on Samuel Merritt alone. :)
  12. I will be attending the UMSON CNL program SP' 15; I hope to meet you fellows there next year... Received my call at 08:15 a.m. and status now says "Admit Institution"
  13. I also live about an hour thirty away in Clarksburg, MD though my family is planning to move to a new home. I've been to Baltimore once and so far I believe I will commute from home except I change my mind to rent near campus.
  14. Julesbaby1 you are right that we will not hear until a week or two from today. I am currently taking Statistics, English Literature, and tutoring Microbiol & Chemistry. I realize although I'm busy with school I can't stop checking on SURFS hahaha. Fingers crossed to be one of the CNL students for Spring 2015! And I pray thesame for everyone
  15. @ afowler77 I agree with what you said about being waitlisted. It is the test of one's patience. Focus on other aspects of your life while looking forward to the final word. littlemango I certainly would be honored to help out should I get into UMSON. I enjoy dimensional analysis, solution calculations, pH and dilution calcs of both Chem and Micro and even though I have never taken Pathophysiology I believe with my tutoring review I should be on a good footing for my first year in Nursing school. We the CNL applicants should know by mid-November or the end of the month of our admission decissions. If I get in I'll certainly love to IM you. I will not stop to say that you are a good influence. And CONGRATS on your admissions. :)
