OK, so the rules have changed, and CPD is no longer enough.
I'm wondering about how to achieve the "reflective discussion" part when there are no UK registered nurses where I work.
So, all expat Brits, please let me know how you plan to maintain your NMC registration. Is anyone agreeable to contacting me, with a view to maybe planning an email/Skype discussion that we both can document?
I'm in Chicago btw, so if there are any other UK nurses here, we can meet in Panera instead : )

Hi,
I am glad to find this site since I have wondered how to conduct a reflective discussion for my next revalidation. I am currently in NY, USA.
As I have read the posts on this site, my understanding is that I need someone who has an NMC PIN for the reflective discussion. It means it is alright to ask a friend who has never worked with me, but she is currently registered with NMC. Is it correct? Would it be alright to set up a Zoom meeting with the friend or an ex-colleague in the UK?
I would be extremely grateful if someone could answer my questions.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Kind regards

Just want to remind you that the confirmer is someone you work with, who can confirm that you are submitting all the complete requirements.
They do not need to have an NMC pin, just a checkable professional license, and they have to be able to see the documents you are submitting.
The NMC registration is needed for the person that you have the professional discussion with. You do the 5 reflective studies first, and then discuss them.
