UK Nurse Registration Full Application and Assessment stage before OSCE

Published

Hi People

I am a UK born citizen trained in Australia hence I am going via the overseas trained route. I passed my CBT test and am in the full application and assessment stage.

I am interested in sharing information with people who are also in this stage of the application.

I commenced my application in 2013 under the old process which was rejected due to lack of clinical hours. I received a letter from NMC advising me of the new process. Like many people on this forum, this entire process has been long, drawnout, frustrating and tedious for me!!!!!!!

To those with DLs.. can you share what it actually says?

That you can now proceed with the 2nd step (OSCE) and to contact Univ of Northampton to book your exams. Also it includes a checklist of documents you need to show before you are allowed to take your OSCE.

what is the next step after receiving your DL? is it the COS or Visa?

COS. It's one of the requirements to obtain a tier 2 visa.

For those who had an error on their portal

I called NMC to explain what happened but still my portal was not fixed

i cannot view the uploaded documents

the "open" link was gone

do you just wait it out? Or call the NMC again?

Have you submitted your uploaded docs already or have you received an email saying that you have submitted your docs and that they have received it? If so, then you won't really be able to see your uploaded docs anymore. Once you press submit all, all you can see is a board of all your docs waiting to be received by the NMC through mail inorder for you to be put on queue for assessment.

Hi pinkprincess22,

No i did not yet receive a feedback from them, I am just praying that everything will be fine. I will update here once they give me a reply. Kindly email me [email protected]. Thanks.

hi glovee! :) how are you with the assessment process? did you receive any feedback already?

Is there any way you can be considered 'not qualified to practice' (meaning you failed the assessment phase) after passing all the exams here in the Ph (ielts & cbt)?

I have read here before that some applicants 'failed' in the assessment phase bec of the FTTA. They lack the required hours of training.

Yup. Shulace is right. COS is next as you/your employer will be needing it for visa application.

I don't think there is such a thing as "not qualified to practice". Some applicants were just asked to submit additional documents that's why there is a delay in receiving their DLs like lacking the clinical experience or nursing hours in the University. And yes, passing the IELTS and CBT is not enough.

Hi all,

Just want to ask if anyone of you here experienced getting an email from NMC requesting further information for your application? They actually asked me to update my TRF number in my online application as I incorrectly typed one letter as a number- that's letter "I".

I wonder if I will need to re-enter the assessment queue again and wait for another 40-70 days before I get my decision letter? Thank you in advance. la9MFCKoIaKIlaHjVuttgx238A8l+oISTPknrAAAAAElFTkSuQmCC

Everything is uploaded, last document over a week ago and it still says "More information required-feedback" at the top. Does this mean I need to call them? When will I know it I'm on the que?

from what i have read here, some of them received their DL a few days after additional documents were asked from them. so just wait, yours will come soon.
