Hi People
I am a UK born citizen trained in Australia hence I am going via the overseas trained route. I passed my CBT test and am in the full application and assessment stage.
I am interested in sharing information with people who are also in this stage of the application.
I commenced my application in 2013 under the old process which was rejected due to lack of clinical hours. I received a letter from NMC advising me of the new process. Like many people on this forum, this entire process has been long, drawnout, frustrating and tedious for me!!!!!!!
Hi I would like to ask if you made an error in the portal then submitted the documents already, how long does it take for the NMC to allow you to make the changes?I entered only 4 years of primary and secondary education, when in fact the total is supposed to be 10 years. I emailed the NMC already regarding the error and also included my primary and secondary education diploma.
I was able to send my complete barcoded forms and my prc forms and just yesterday all of the documents was delivered to the NMC.
Thank you so much!
Better to call them. NMC's replies to emails tend to take 1 week or more. So in order for you to have it fixed right away, call them..and speak to the right person.
Best of Luck!
Hi, I'm happy to help anyone who would like support though I don't receive notifications for private messages on here. You can contact me on [email protected]
I'd like to keep this thread going. I think if people post their timeline, in terms of when the application was submtted and documents sent out, it'll be a helpful way to guage how long nmc takes to ge those DLs out.
So im gonna post mine and hope the others who are going through this stage or who have completed it recently do too.
Application submitted: 7/27/16
Post qualification registration: DELIVERED 7/27/16
Everything else is in transit.
Ill update from time to time.
Hey guys I'd like to share my timeline as well,
1. All documents received by 06/06/16
2. Called nmc on 23/06/16, they said that on that very day (23/06/16) I joined the assessment queue.
3. By around 08/07/16 my portal hadn't changed to show the checklist of documets received so I was concerned that I wasn't yet in the assessment queue, called NMC again 08/07/16, they confirmed that I was in the queue from 23/06/16.
4. On 25/07/16 my portal was still the same so I emailed them at around 22h00, the very next morning they replied to my email to confirm that they had received all of my documents and I am in the queue, they explained why it takes 40-70 days, because they have to thoroughly verify and that is for the safety of their patients to be certain we are competent in all fields.
I guess NMC is really busy at the moment which is why DL's are taking so long, and it sucks to wait this long, but we don't really have a choice.
Hope this helps
Xxx
Hello everyone! I am also currently waiting for my decision letter but my case is quite complicated as I had 2 nursing schools and had to submit some documents proving I haven't been to the United States hence I couldn't obtain a police clearance for my license there. I sent an email back in May 2016 regarding this concern in which I got a reply which said I just had to submit the form to accompany transcript of training for the first nursing school and provide a sworn statement from an attorney that I've never been to the US. I submitted what they've said but I couldn't press the "submit" button at the end of the application because their system reads it an error as some documents are missing. I am quite worried because I am about to be deployed sometime around November this year. Anybody here on the same boat as me? I have already emailed them regarding this matter but have to wait for their reply maybe a week after

Hi tinitish86. In my case, the NMC staff just asked me to provide a letter of declaration stating that I have never been to the USA but just registered as a Nurse there. The NMC staff did not tell me to have in notarized by a lawyer. Gosh, in that case, I need to call NMC again to ask what exactly do they need in lieu of the police clearance. I already uploaded the declaration letter on the portal. another nerve-racking situation!
Hi Daisy. How do we get in touch with you?
The best way is on my email in my previous post Rorich.
It would be very easy to offer the support needed to prepare for OSCE for those already in the country....but needs to be practical and hands on.
This can be arranged if there are enough people who wish to have this experience?

I know waiting times for NMC DL vary but what is the average waiting time now for the NMC to release Decision Letters?
I'm having butterflies in my stomach and its only my 3rd week.
