UK Nurse Registration Full Application and Assessment stage before OSCE

Published

Hi People

I am a UK born citizen trained in Australia hence I am going via the overseas trained route. I passed my CBT test and am in the full application and assessment stage.

I am interested in sharing information with people who are also in this stage of the application.

I commenced my application in 2013 under the old process which was rejected due to lack of clinical hours. I received a letter from NMC advising me of the new process. Like many people on this forum, this entire process has been long, drawnout, frustrating and tedious for me!!!!!!!

Hi!. Can I upload already the documents in my nmc account even though my documents sent through mail are not yet reflected in my account?

Hi. you can use viber out. Buy some credits first t make that call.

There is a recent important update with the Ielts requirements, posted on Nmc.

Please click and read the link..

I wonder if this would also affect the ongoing applications.. Any thoughts? I'm worried because I took the Ielts Acad Nov 2015. 😅

New English language test requirements

Hi itseuniceskie,

The change will actually make it easier for applicants to reach the English language requirement. In my understanding, instead of a minimum 7 in all subtests in 1 sitting, it is now acceptable to get the said scores in 2 sittings (just no scores below 6.5 and exams are within 6 months of each other).

So for example, on your 1st take, your scores are: LRS - 7, W - 6.5 and on the retake: LRS - 7 (or 6.5), W - 7, that fulfills the minimum of all 7 across the board requirement.

Hope my example simple and uncomplicated. :D

Thank you for your input, I appreciate it. However, what makes me anxious is the fact that I still haven't taken the ielts ukvi, and it was over 6 months ago when I took my Ielts Academic. 😯

You have fulfilled the language requirement of the NMC in 1 sitting, so the IELTS UKVI you have yet to take is not for NMC anymore but for the compliance of UK Visa and Immigration requirement (OBS of 4 or 5 I think) for the issuance of tier 2 visa.

Hello everyone! I've been having problems with regards to the current work address portion and the street name section of the Referee page 2 (downloaded from the NMC website). The boxes are not enough for the "current work address" to be answered in full. If it will be filled in by the Referee, for sure it will exceed the boxes leading to the next section which is the "street name". So, the answer won't correspond to the information needed. I hope I explained it well. : D

I hope somebody will help me about this matter. I will be mailing it soon. Many thanks! :)

This whole process is a lesson in patience!

Process started March 25th

IELTS done April 21

CBT passed June 1st

All forms uploaded or sent and application submitted June 27th

i was hoping to start working before the kids go back to school in September, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen...

Hi iampresrn,

I am on the same boat as you - only that I was a transferee and not a shiftee.

First of all, whether you declare it not, your agency and the NMC will still know. Remember, the TOR of your nursing school carries with it your subjects and grades from your previous course (or in my case, school). Since transfering to another university requires the student to secure their transfer credentials from his/her last school attended in order to be enrolled, that information will then be reflected in your updated TOR.

Hope this helped.

Sassyces i just have a follow up regarding this particular issue.

I'm also a transferee like yourself. I transfered 2nd semester of my third year. Do i need to have my previous school fill out the same form aswell?

How did you go about obtaining the course description/theoretical hours from your previous school? Is there document you have to give your first school for them to accomplish and do they also have to send this the NMC directly?

Thanks in advance for your response.

Hi Shoelace,

I transfered to another uni when I was an incoming 2nd year so basically, all my Nursing theoreticals and clinicals were done in 1 school (2nd school). As such, only the aforesaid filled out my NMC form. As for my Course Description document (from my 1st uni), I was only asked to send an authorization letter since a friend was the one to secure the doc in my behalf.

About your case, since you took your nursing subjects and clinicals under 2 schools, sorry that I couldn't be of help. We apparently are not under the same circumstance so I have no idea how to go about it. With that, it's best to email and call the NMC, inform them of your situation and definitely, you'll have the answer that you seek.

Email them at the earliest since my 1st email took 10 working days to be replied on to.

All the best!

Hi everyone! Also waiting for my DL. Was just put on queue a few days ago so maybe one month more until DL. Lets hope and pray that everything will turn out according to our plans!

I noticed too that NMC has been late in uploading documents on the portals. Mine took 3 weeks before it showed in my portal that it was uploaded. I guess they are receiving a lot of applications right now.

Does anyone know what this means?

On top of my read only application, three documents have been uploaded and above that it says "More information required-feedback". Do I have to call them? Or does it just say that because they've not received all of the documents yet?
