UK Nurse Registration Full Application and Assessment stage before OSCE

Published

Hi People

I am a UK born citizen trained in Australia hence I am going via the overseas trained route. I passed my CBT test and am in the full application and assessment stage.

I am interested in sharing information with people who are also in this stage of the application.

I commenced my application in 2013 under the old process which was rejected due to lack of clinical hours. I received a letter from NMC advising me of the new process. Like many people on this forum, this entire process has been long, drawnout, frustrating and tedious for me!!!!!!!

Hello my fellow nurses!!!

Anyone here trying to register as a RMN? I am awaiting my DL as I am seeking registration in that specialty and am excited to meet and speak with other nurses seeking registration in mental health.

I received my decision letter yesterday! Such a great feeling. I haven't received anything from Northhampton yet, but plan on contacting them Monday. Did you guys get a separate email from them for the OSCE?

Hie everyone.lm new here and i just wanted to ask,At what point during registration are you able to work in the UK?Do you have to get fully registered with NMC first before you can practise or can you practise after a certain part of registration?l hope im making sense..thanks

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

To practice as a RN you need to be fully registered and have a PIN#

I keep finding more and more CTN nurses!

Nursekji - where are you planning on working and when?

Hi evansje! I'm probably going to be at St.Thomas hospital, and hoping to start in December - provided I pass my OSCE.. fingers crossed!! How about you?

Ariana and ashley1286 and any other Continental people I've missed:

Would any of you like to exchange contact info? I recently just passed the OSCE and I know some of you just took it or are about to so I figured we will all be starting work about the same time. I'm curious as to how your experience with continental has been and who your recruiter is. It would be great to meet up if any of you are in London. I'll be there in mid-January most likely.

I can't figure out how to PM anyone on my phone or I would try to get ahold of you guys that way.

@evansje I am with Continental too =) Been going through the process with them for almost 4 years now and have finally received my decision letter this week and am looking to take my test in January or February so I will be out there around the same time as you. Would be great to meet up as I am going to be new to London too. [email protected]

No way! I'll probably be at St Thomas too but starting in January. I have my pin finally so now I'm just waiting for my sponsorship/visa stuff. I wanted to have everything finished before I quit my job here and moved. Plus with the holidays coming up it will be nice to have a few weeks off to enjoy them. I'll PM you my contact info.

hi! did you take regular ielts or UKVI? thanks!

Hello everyone :) I am currently studying to take the OSCE. My test date is the 27th of this month. I am currently living in the UK and would like to reach out to anyone who has already taken the OSCE or is set to take the test in the near future. Just looking for good study tips and fellow study support. I am making my way through the online study material which is very helpful but sometimes it just nice to study and talk things out with your fellow nurses. If anyone is currently studying for the OSCE please feel free to email me at [email protected]

Hi guys! I have just received the best news today. I passed my OSCE. Good luck to all of you. You all can do it![emoji56][emoji56][emoji120]🏻

Nursekji - Are you able to PM me your email? I'm not able to PM you and I don't want to post my email on the thread.

At last, after nearly three years I have finally received some good news - decision letter came today :)
