UIC nursing school

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Okay so i am applying to the BSN program at UIC 2015. I am so worried because i have no idea what to expect. It is one of the top nursing schools in the country. I am literally freaking out because i am competing for one of the 90 spots. My Cum GPA is 3.89 and science GPA is 4.0 and I graduated out of high school a year early (at the age 16). i am currently 18 years old. I finished most of my pre-reqs at a community college because its cheaper, I also finished my essay questions but i am worried that its not good enough. I volunteer at my local hospital for over a few months and i know that nursing is what I want to do.

Can someone please tell me if I have a good chance of getting in? Getting into UIC is my dream goal. Is my GPA good? Is there anything that i can do to improve my chances of getting in?

I am applying sometime next week.

I agree with ale..I haven't heard about a second interviewing process. We should get acceptance or denial letters mid-April

Yay, I also received my interview letter this afternoon. I chose to go on March 11.

I meant interview e-mail...you guys got it anyway since we're all on the same boat

Does anyone have ideas about the interview's question and the writting?

Sorry for some reason Allnurses stopped emailing me about your replies so I had no idea that anyone was replying to my post. I had my interview on Tuesday, just be yourself :). I really do not know what else to say. It maybe frightening but they are only humans just like us. Honestly no one is perfect and they know that. so it is okay to be nervous. Be yourself!!!!!!! I WISH ALL OF YOU THE BEST OF LUCK! I had no idea what to expect, so that is when my true colors was shown. I mean thats the point of the interview, right? good luck everyone, i hope to see all of you in UIC next fall :)

how was the writing? Was it hard? Did it take long for you to write down your answer? I hope it's not an essay though. So, r u admitted to yhe program already?

The writing portion did not have a right or wrong answer. Just do your thing, and i think you will all do well :) and NO i am not admitted to the program, in fact everyone will find out by April 15th.

Thanks for the reply. I'm still scared of the interview. Don't know what to expect. How many people were there in your group and interviewers? Just curious....

Did you get the attachment from UIC? It explains everything on there and I suggest you look that over a few times. Two people interviewing 4-5 applicants. You will be fine, no one is perfect :)

Hi ale8620,

I am going to the interview the same day as you. Are you going in the afternoon or in the morning?

This is my first time writting in all nurses. So, I don't know exactly if you can send a private message. If so maybe you can send me your phone number so we can communicate better. I feel very nervous about the interview. Are you preparing for that? I don't have a very high GPA as you do. I think you GPA and volunter experience at Rush will help you a lot. If anyone who went already to the interview want to share a little bite about it experience and what to expect it will be greatly apreciate it. (how were people outfits? what is the essay question about? how was overall the interview, what kind of questions? Please keep in touch and good luck everyone.

I was told that UIC was on probation or was given a warning for having a low Nclex pass rate?

Just researched it and yes they did receive a warning. I was looking to apply for spring 2016, I don't how heavy this should weigh into my decision?
