UIC nursing school

Published

Okay so i am applying to the BSN program at UIC 2015. I am so worried because i have no idea what to expect. It is one of the top nursing schools in the country. I am literally freaking out because i am competing for one of the 90 spots. My Cum GPA is 3.89 and science GPA is 4.0 and I graduated out of high school a year early (at the age 16). i am currently 18 years old. I finished most of my pre-reqs at a community college because its cheaper, I also finished my essay questions but i am worried that its not good enough. I volunteer at my local hospital for over a few months and i know that nursing is what I want to do.

Can someone please tell me if I have a good chance of getting in? Getting into UIC is my dream goal. Is my GPA good? Is there anything that i can do to improve my chances of getting in?

I am applying sometime next week.

I just found this site and was interviewed. My GPA was quite low though.

Murse1293 I think the interview went well. I'm not so sure about my writing though. @Nanachan your GPA met criteria so don't stress about it. How's everything else? Work experience, letters ex.. Also how was your interview?

Ya honestly I didn't feel all that hot about the writing but I just think they were trying to get a feel for our priorities

I agree, I feel like I could of done better in that section.

Nanachan,

My I ask you what is your GPA, why did you said is low?...I think they are looking for a convination of things, not all the GPA.

Well,

I think the group that went inside of the interview with me, they all look very well prepared. It was super competitive in my opinion. I don't know how the another interviews went but my group was great. I am just crossing my fingers!

Hi everyone , how are you guys handling the tension?:D

I want to know the results! This month is going to be the end of me

It was a 3.2 GPA. Hopefully, we will know in the next month.

Hi Nanachan,

Do not worries about your GPA, you meet the criteria and it is the reason why they contacted you for an interview. I am trying to keep myself busy to do not overthink about what I should said or write in the interview.

I think there are many factors involve in the selection process, I don't think you should be to worried about your GPA. Yes, it is very important because it shows how hard you work at school to achieve your dreams. However, there are more criterias that go along with the GPA.

Just stay calm, be positive, and remember "If it mean to be it will be, not matter what" God bless you all.
