Okay so i am applying to the BSN program at UIC 2015. I am so worried because i have no idea what to expect. It is one of the top nursing schools in the country. I am literally freaking out because i am competing for one of the 90 spots. My Cum GPA is 3.89 and science GPA is 4.0 and I graduated out of high school a year early (at the age 16). i am currently 18 years old. I finished most of my pre-reqs at a community college because its cheaper, I also finished my essay questions but i am worried that its not good enough. I volunteer at my local hospital for over a few months and i know that nursing is what I want to do.
Can someone please tell me if I have a good chance of getting in? Getting into UIC is my dream goal. Is my GPA good? Is there anything that i can do to improve my chances of getting in?
I am applying sometime next week.
I don't know about living on campus or commuting. Honestly, I've been there twice and it took me 1 hour and 1/2 to drive there and another hour and a half to get back home. I have to weigh my options very well before making a decision. I could spend the commuting time listening to lecture recordings or things like this...but it would probably be exhausting at some point. But, on the other hand, I don't know if I would still be able to live in dorms...I've done that before in my country...I loved it, but I was right after high-school and I was happy that my parents could't control me physicallyI did my job as a student though w/out being controlled by them and it all worked out well. Now, I'm 27 and I'm more mature, so I don't know if I could live on campus anymore...but this could be another option as I could return home for the weekends. I'm not bumped by the fact that the program lasts 2.5 years...I just want to make sure the information settles well in my head, so that I can pass the NCLEX from the 1st time. But enough about me...what about you?
I live in the city and would love to stay here. I am 21 so I could live in the dorms but I really don't want to. And I am getting anxious I thought we were supposed to hear today?

Well, they said between April 15th and April 30...I don't expect to hear back from them today...I know we're all anxious to find out, but there's not much left to do now
Me too!...Did anybody knows if they send e-mails to anyone including the people denied? I am wondering!..April 15th is almost gone....and I did not received any e-mail....please post your status, whether you are on a waitlist, accepted, or denied.Thanks.
Hi Arlene,
I'm pretty sure that all of us who went to the interview will receive an answer whether positive or negative. You will find out sooner or later, but keep in mind there is still plenty of time until April 30...that would be the latest you could hear back from them...
