Okay so i am applying to the BSN program at UIC 2015. I am so worried because i have no idea what to expect. It is one of the top nursing schools in the country. I am literally freaking out because i am competing for one of the 90 spots. My Cum GPA is 3.89 and science GPA is 4.0 and I graduated out of high school a year early (at the age 16). i am currently 18 years old. I finished most of my pre-reqs at a community college because its cheaper, I also finished my essay questions but i am worried that its not good enough. I volunteer at my local hospital for over a few months and i know that nursing is what I want to do.
Can someone please tell me if I have a good chance of getting in? Getting into UIC is my dream goal. Is my GPA good? Is there anything that i can do to improve my chances of getting in?
I guess it should be next week or so. I am am so anxious to check my emails on the phone. I want to but at the same time don't want to since I fear I will have a rejection letter.
All right, so things are getting pretty intense here! I'm ready for that decision! I've worked my butt off to earn only the best grades and it has finally paid off! I just got admitted for nursing at NIU! Can't wait to hear from UIC!
Ale8620, It is great that you was admitted at NIU, at least you have options plan A and B. If you are admitted at UIC where are you going to go?
I am anxious to know about UIC. Did you guys know if UIC let people know if they are denied? or they just send an e-mail to people who are admitted or in waitlist?
It has been so stressful to be waiting, and to be in the unknown!...But, we are getting closer and closer. To this point they know already who is in and who is out, we probably are the ones who are waiting!

UIC is my 1st choice, but I applied to NIU as a back up plan. I love how professional they are at NIU. The program is tough, but students feel well prepared for the NCLEX. However, I know that UIC is #1 nursing school in IL.... I also like one of the interviewer at UIC, plus UIC is in the city, which is where I live. She looked so friendly and was very nice with us. I even researched about her and the students absolutely love her. Tough call right now....but I can't make plans if I haven't received an answer from them yet.
I did get the letter. Today! In fact, when I saw the mailman I asked him to check what he's got for me;)...I grabbed the letter, I went upstairs, and there was the big news, in that small white envelope...which has made my day:)! We're classmates...if we choose to go to NIU
