UIC Fall 2021 BSN Program

Updated:   Published

I submitted my app for UIC yesterday. I'm anxious for the result. So for anyone else who applied what is your GPA and your extracurricular activities? I'm a transfer student with a 3.2 GPA and I've worked at an animal hospital for 3 years.
I got denied last year due to my GPA so I'm just trying to figure out my chances, and where I can improve if I get denied again. ?

I chose only the Chicago campus when I was signing the waitlist form. Since Springfield is far from me.

Who would send out the emails? Is it still (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME)

If you don't mind me asking, what is your GPA and resume like? I just emailed Jon Reye backing declining the offer for the Springfield campus. I put down Chicago as my first choice.

Are they giving you a spot at the Chicago campus or Springfield?

The cost of living in Springfield is much lower and you will enjoy the friendlier campus that is integral to Springfield. St. Louis is 90 minutes away for shopping and fun and the city of Springfield is known for friendliness. Think about coming down to Springfield to look around.....before your decision

Hello,

Did anyone else get an email from (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) for the Chicago campus?

I did and I have gotten accepted into the Chicago campus.

Congratulations to us both. I was scared I would have to attend a private university.

Congrats to you also. Same, I thought I didn't have a chance since they were saying it was packed and I was on the waiting list.

Hey, if you don't mind my asking, what was your GPA and resume like? I got waitlisted, and I put down Chicago as my 1st choice, but open to the other two campus. I got an email saying that I was pulled from the waitlist for Springfield. I had to deny the Springfield campus due to personal reasons that came up, but I'm wondering why I wasn't pulled for Chicago's campus but for Springfield.

Hey, My GPA was like 3.4 and on my resume I volunteer a few places, like day care and at a restaurant. Plus I was in a Honor Society. I figured the reason why that happened to you was because you chose all three campusus. If you chose chicago campus only then they would probably just give you a spot there. On the Faqs form, they stated if you chose, For example UIS and UIC, If a spot opens at UIS it will be offered to you and if you decline the offer you will be pulled from the waitlist altogether. They only offer you once. Did you apply for any other schools?

They lottery pick waitlisted students when I called and asked. Which is kind of bogus LOL

It doesnt matter your GPA or the amount of experience when you are waitlisted because they lottery pick waitlisted applicants by luck

I applied to a few other schools for nursing, but they all denied me too. ? I'm an average student, but man... Didn't I think I was denied by 4 school average (3.2 GPA, work full time at an animal hospital) I'll being going to ISU for Medical laboratory Science. Which after researching it, it's just as important at nursing in the medical field. Maybe this is a sign that I'm just not meant to be a nurse.
