  1. I applied to a few other schools for nursing, but they all denied me too. ? I'm an average student, but man... Didn't I think I was denied by 4 school average (3.2 GPA, work full time at an animal hospital) I'll being going to ISU for Medical laboratory Science. Which after researching it, it's just as important at nursing in the medical field. Maybe this is a sign that I'm just not meant to be a nurse. How do you know it's a lottery pick waitlist?
  2. Hey, if you don't mind my asking, what was your GPA and resume like? I got waitlisted, and I put down Chicago as my 1st choice, but open to the other two campus. I got an email saying that I was pulled from the waitlist for Springfield. I had to deny the Springfield campus due to personal reasons that came up, but I'm wondering why I wasn't pulled for Chicago's campus but for Springfield.
  3. If you don't mind me asking, what is your GPA and resume like? I just emailed Jon Reye backing declining the offer for the Springfield campus. I put down Chicago as my first choice.
  4. I didn't get into ISU nursing program. They denied me for their program ? but accepted me as a student. All the schools I applied for denied me which I can't blame them. I'm an average student (3.2 GPA and no sports/clubs). I'm going to do their medical laboratory science. I enjoyed the lab portion of working at an animal hospital.
  5. Hey, I got an email today asking if I was still interested in the program, because a few spots opened up at the Springfield campus. I have until Monday to let them know. IDK if I'm going to take it. I was getting prepared to move to ISU for MLS. If it was the Chicago campus, I would have accepted it but Springfield is farther away.
  6. For anyone on the waitlist (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) said, "I’m still working through emails, so apologies for the delay if you’ve reached out. I will send a confirmations by the end of next week stating whether or not we’ve received a response from you." Also if you get pulled from the waitlist and get accepted can you guys let us know. Please and thank you!
  7. I tried to register again but is said I already submitted so I’m hoping I did it right. I know that the deadline for us to register is April 30, but I’m talking about when will the university let us know. They said in the email that there is no date, but I just don’t want to find out I got accepted after I move to Illinois State.
  8. I got waitlisted too. ? I wonder if they have a "deadline" for the waitlist students. I've heard where some students get waitlisted, and then the university accepts them a week before classes start. I would hate that considering my back up plan is Illinois State and I would have to move there. Also, for the people who were waitlisted, did you enter your name and email address? Did you get a confirmation that you signed up for the waitlist? When I submitted to be put on the list I never got a confirmation email so did they not send one or did I enter the wrong email?
  9. I'm kind of glad I know when we will hear, but also not. The next two weeks are going to go so slow.
  10. I applied to ASU, Illinois State, University of Wisconsin, University of Utah and UIC (all 3 campuses). I'm trying to take out as little loans as possible. So the out-of-state schools are a big risk but they offer a lot more than just a nursing program. I applied to UIC last year (2020) and they denied me due to GPA. So if I don't get in this year, I'm not going to wait another year again. Based off the available seats last year, and the number of interviews this year, I think only 10 students are not getting in....? I looked at school with late acceptance but they are schools that didn't offer much or I didn't meet the requirement (I.e. missing classes) Illinois State accepted me as a student and I picked Medical Lab Science. I'm already looking into being a traveling MLS so it's not that far off being a traveling nursing. Just less money, but Illinois State gave me a grant and I only need about $3,000 in loan per semester. Beside getting a BSN, another goal is to graduate with as little loans as possible.
  11. Moraine accepts in-district students first. ? So even if you have a 3.5 GPA, they will accept that in-district student that has a 3.0 GPA first. (My friend was going to go to Moraine until they told her that). I know a few people that went to Chamberlain, but it's just so expensive for what it offers. I was thinking about it too. If I got to Illinois State, most of my tuition would be paid off by grants.
  12. Yeah. ? It's not looking too good. A lot of schools accepted me as a student, but said no to their nursing program. UIC is the last school to hear from. It's they deny me then I'll be going to Illinois State for Medical Laboratory Science, and just give up on being an RN. I'm hoping I get in.
  13. UIC, ASU, University of Wisconsin, and Illinois State University.
  14. Based off when people found out last year, I would assume the week of 12 - 16 of April.
  15. Did anyone else get an email for UIC College of Nursing scholarships? It was due on the 7th. I did it and it was real simple. It asked what campus I'm going too. I put Chicago but what if I don't get in Chicago but Springfield instead? Can the scholarship be transferred to Springfield? Springfield and Champaign were options, but I could only pick one.
