UH Manoa GEPN Cohort 2022

Published

Just checking in to see if anyone will be applying to UH Manoa's GEPN program next week. I'm nervous for the application process so if you guys have any advice or questions, I made this forum for us!

Hi everyone! Does anybody get acceptance from the alternate list lately?

Specializes in CRT, RRT.

An email was sent on March 1st about a virtual welcome event sometime in April. Wondering if anyone knew the date?

Chris is supposed to email us.

Should I make a facebook page for us to connect? Also, does anyone know what they are doing for housing yet? ?

Disregard. It worked. Sorry!

Hi! Are there any current GEPN students that would like to give me more info on what your school, work, and social lives are like at the moment? I'm interested in applying for next year's cohort so I'm taking small steps in preparing myself mentally. Also, is there anyone 26 or older who are currently in the program because I would like to know how you can get health insurance benefits (medical/dental/vision) considering the workload you have and that most of the GEPN students are asked not to work on the first year. Thanks!

Hi! I’m in the current cohort.
The first semester workload is alot and time consuming, school was m-fri all day. This semester isn't too bad. Only 3 lecture classes with 3 clinical days. School mon-sat. Summer from what I've heard is more chill.
UH offers medical coverage. They usually send out an email and you can apply.
A few of us still work through the program. I work per diem at a one of the hospitals here. I’m also a single mom of two young children.
the program is challenging but definitely doable.

Hi Bhaili! Thank you so much for sharing, it means a lot. It makes me well assured that this program can be done regardless of what people's circumstances are. I give credit especially to students who work and have children.
