Hi!

I'm planning on applying to this program. :) I'm now seeing it is rolling admissions!  I wonder if its best to apply early. Good luck!!

Yes it is best to apply early! I just finished the Graduate Division application! So I'll probably hear back from that one in a couple weeks or so. I'm scared but excited LOL

Good luck to you too!! ?& to everyone else applying!!

Did you upload any letters of rec for the Graduate division application?  I'm applying right now but not sure exactly what they need

No, no letters of rec are required for either applications. The nursingcas application is now open though so I just started it. Only essay, resume, and unofficial transcripts are required for this application.

Hi guys!  I submitted my UH grad division app on Wednesday and just finished the CAS app today (phew!)! I'm so excited/nervous!

What are your backgrounds like?  I got As for the prerequisites I took (3/6), 3.7 GPA overall but I have a pretty dismal record from a mainland school a long time ago so worried about that.

Good luck everyone!

Hi :)

I submitted my UH grad app last Saturday and the nursingCAS app on Wednesday. I'm super nervous too!!

We have similar backgrounds! I have my BA in Psychology with a 3.74 GPA and all A's in my prereq's as well. I was most worried about my resume since I don't have much experience, other than 4 1/2 years as a server and 3 months at nursing home. Still hopeful though..I got an email yesterday saying that my application was ready to review so now it's just the waiting game.

Hi all!

I am planning to apply this month! I have a BA in Political Science with a 3.86 GPA. My bachelor degree is from Canada. What are the science prerequisites? I tried looking through the pages and didn't find it. I have taken Anatomy/Physio, Microbiology, Gen Chem, Human Dev., Nutrition. I got all As. I am assuming those are the prerequisites for any Nursing degree?

I am worried too because I have no experience at all in the medical field. I worked in the financial industry for 5 years, so pretty unrelated. What are you all applying for? MS or DNP? I am more looking into the MS due to having family obligations. Do any you have kids?

Any of you planning to practice outside of Hawaii? Is it hard to get your licensing in another state? I heard that Hawaii is not part of the compact states, so I am not sure how it works if you plan to eventually practice in another state other than Hawaii.

Glad to meet you all and wishing you all luck!

Do we have to do the GRE? or it not necessary? What about the TEAS test? sorry for all the questions, the GEPN info session is in 2 weeks and theres not much info on the actual program page.

Hey! No we don’t have to take the GRE or TEAS for this school. Here’s the link for the needed Pre reqs. https://nursing.hawaii.edu/graduate-entry-program-in-nursing/how-to-apply/  There’s basically only anatomy, physiology and microbio needed to apply, and then to enroll we need

Anatomy & Physiology I with Lab

Anatomy & Physiology II with Lab

General Microbiology lecture

Human Growth and Development course

Applied Human Nutrition course

Survey of Research Methods course

I’m in California and am hoping to practice here once I am a nurse! I applied to the MS advanced population health program.

Oh thanks a lot! I think I have all the prerequisites! I am planning to practice either in Virginia or Florida. My husband is in the military so wanted to know how easy it is to transfer from state to state.

Good luck to you!

yeah I’ve been wondering the same thing! I know it is definitely possible. I don’t think it’s too difficult but I have no idea how that process goes.
Good luck to you too!!

I decided to apply for the DNP-AGPCNP track. As of right now, I don't plan on practicing outside of Hawaii but I think other states may have different requirements. This website mentions something about that on the bottom of the page.
