UH Manoa GEPN Cohort 2022

Published

Just checking in to see if anyone will be applying to UH Manoa's GEPN program next week. I'm nervous for the application process so if you guys have any advice or questions, I made this forum for us!

Hi ?

I submitted my UH grad app last Saturday and the nursingCAS app on Wednesday. I'm super nervous too!!

We have similar backgrounds! I have my BA in Psychology with a 3.74 GPA and all A's in my prereq's as well. I was most worried about my resume since I don't have much experience, other than 4 1/2 years as a server and 3 months at nursing home. Still hopeful though..I got an email yesterday saying that my application was ready to review so now it's just the waiting game.

Considering how many of the prereqs are PSY courses I think your degree will look good on your application!  Good luck!

Hey guys! Has anyone heard back from the graduate division about being accepted into the school (not the nursing program)? I thought we were suppose to hear back within 30 days, so I'm wondering if I should contact them. I applied Sept 2

I think you just hear from the school of nursing for GEPN acceptance?  Maybe you can reach out to the grad division to confirm?  Looks like people who applied in September found out at the end of October in previous cohorts so hoping to hear something soon.  Let us know if you find anything out!

Okay yes I did, I think you guys are right. I'm just gonna wait to hear. It must be different for the nursing program! Good luck to you guys!!

Hey all! Just wondering if anyone has heard back with a decision yet? My application have been under review since the first week of September and I'm getting pretty anxious about it. With the previous cohort, people received a decision on October 22nd.

I have not heard anything! I really hope we do soon. I have to tell another program if I want to attend by October 28?

I haven't heard anything either but looking at past cohort forums on here I think we might find out something the week after next.  Good vibes, everyone!

Hi!  Thank you for posting in this year's forum!  Sounds like we should be finding out soon!  So nervous!

Could you tell us a bit about your background?  How have the first few months been like for you?

Yes probably soon!

My bachelors is in Health Care Administration 3.6 GPA.

I have worked at Straub Medical Center as a CNA  for the past 5 years and I’m also a medic in the Air Force (Hawaii Air National Guard)

A lot of my classmates have no medical background at all so don’t worry at all if you don’t have any experience!

Fall semester is a lot. We have 19 credits right now I believe - 7 classes. We’re in class mondays online 8-4pm. Tues-Thurs we’re on campus from 8-330pm Fridays we are at our clinical sites. Fall semester is a heavy load with pharmacology and patho and learning nursing basics

My cohort has 48 students. I think only 5 of us are still working while going to school.

some of us got notified oct 22 last year, some were put on the waiting list and got in last minute because someone dropped out.
