UH Manoa GEPN Cohort 2022

Published

Just checking in to see if anyone will be applying to UH Manoa's GEPN program next week. I'm nervous for the application process so if you guys have any advice or questions, I made this forum for us!

Hey guys!

Thinking about applying for next years program but I heard rumors it’s super intensive and a little disorganized? Please lmk if these are true!

Is anyone still on the waitlist waiting to hear back?

I am! Hopefully we’ll hear of more movement on the waitlist once other nursing schools start sending out acceptance letters too.

Which track did you apply to?

I applied to the GEPN track. Wishing the best for all of us on the waitlist ?

Has anyone received acceptance letters via mail? There was an issue with my graduate division application (had the MSN track but my CAS application has the DNP track), before it was able to be reviewed, the graduate division needed to update my application. I contacted them several times in November to update the application. I finally heard back in December with extreme apologies that they missed my first several emails. Because of the almost 2 month delay, my application wasn’t able to get reviewed until December 22nd. When I spoke with Chris, he didn’t tell me that the cohort was filled or anything.

On February 1st, he had told me that acceptance/denial letters would be sent out in a couple of weeks. Is anyone still waiting?

I'm so sorry to hear about that, I hope that everything goes well with your application. I applied in September, received an email on December 14th that I am on the list of alternates, and still waiting for an update. For the list of alternates, I think we're given no later than July 15th if we'll get a slot. I'm hoping that we all hear from them this month of February, and thank you for letting us know about that info. Best of luck to all of us!

I am hoping to hear from them this week. This program determines whether or not I stay on island or move to the mainland! During the info session I went to, they said last years cohort went pretty far down on the alternates list, so don’t give up hope!

Did anyone hear any information on the official start date for the Fall? I found info that the first week of August is orientation and then I'm assuming classes begin the last week of August. Does anyone know anything about the rest of August?

I totally feel you. Did you hear from them yet?
